Twitch streamer Kai Cenat is no stranger to placing big bets on himself when playing video games, like he did when he lost £240,000 to rapper 21 Savage, when the two faced off in Madden NFL 24.
Cenat has now gone all in trying to beat Elden Ring, and Kick streamer Adin Ross bet him $100,000 (£80,000) that he couldn’t beat boss character Godfrey on his first try.
If Cenat failed he would owe Ross £80,000, but to everyone’s surprise he managed to beat Godfrey in one go, triggering Ross to ask for double or nothing.
Before taking on the Godfrey fight, Cenat had played Elden Ring for 74 hours, so he had gotten pretty good at the game.
Ross, however, might’ve thought it was easy money, seeing as Cenat had died 732 times by that point – although Elden Ring veterans will know that’s not really an indication that the player isn’t any good.
Screaming in excitement when he felled Godfrey, Cenat soon got a call from Ross, who congratulated him but had another proposition:
‘You can cash out now and bless the f*** out of your chat, your mods especially, because they’ve been working a lot of hours. Or you can do double or nothing and get $200,000 (£160,000) on the next boss.’
Cenat made the smart decision of cashing out his £80,000, and Ross then promised another challenge for him when he gets to the final boss of the game.

If Ross really wants his money back, making some kind of bet for when Cenat fights Malenia – widely considered the most difficult boss in the game – could be the way to go.
Cenat’s Elden Ring streams are hugely popular, with 80,000 fans currently watching him take on optional boss Mohg, 107 hours and 1,094 deaths in.
