Scotty T is returning to the show that made him famous – Geordie Shore.

The 36-year-old reality star has been mainly absent from the series following his axeing in 2018.

At the height of his career, Scotty T, real name Scott Timlin, won Celebrity Big Brother but just a year later, he was out of his main job and declared bankrupt.

Fans of the lothario will be happy to hear he’s finally back on the MTV show, which will be filmed in Thailand. Wey aye pet!

During Kylie Christie’s stag do, Scotty makes his comeback. ‘As the group prepare for a banging night in Bangkok and a ludicrous stag in Koh Samui, no one is quite ready for the return of original fan favourite – Turbo T [Scotty T!],’ the show synopsis teases.

‘Can the Land of Smiles dry the tears of Cyprus and reunite the family? And how will the cast react when Scotty T appears after a long hiatus from the show?’

Let’s take a look back at the rise and fall (and rise again) of the Geordie Shore legend…

Geordie Shore

Scotty T burst onto our screens in 2012, on the fourth series of Geordie Shore. The cheeky chap quickly became known for his love of pulling and getting mortal in the Toon (Newcastle).

‘Get me in this place because I’m going to tear the place up,’ he promised in the title sequence.

When formally introducing himself to the millions of viewers, he said: ‘My name’s Scotty T, I’m 24, I’m a club promoter, I’m from the heart of Newcastle, I’m a fucking weapon and I grill more birds than George Foreman.’ Sounds exhausting!

As well as successfully romancing women in the nightclubs he frequented, he also ended up tashing on with some of his co-stars including Marnie Simpson, and Holly Hagan who once uttered: ‘So we’re drunk and we’re in bed and Scott’s c**k accidentally falls into me mouth.’

His antics led to a classic early 2010 male reality TV career – appearances at nightclubs up and down the country earning up to £3000 each night, performing with the Dreamboys, starring in pantomines and Ex on the Beach. He even got a brief cameo in Neighbours, but his biggest flex came in 2016…

Celebrity Big Brother win

Having won legions of fans on Geordie Shore, Scotty T got the call up for Celebrity Big Brother. He was part of arguably the most iconic series that has ever graced our screens. Across four weeks, we got Angie Bowie’s ‘David’s dead’, Tiffany Pollard’s ‘They were old maiden type of shoes’, and Megan Mckenna’s ‘Let me in there’. I hope those watching realised how lucky they were to be seeing TV history in real time.

While Scotty T didn’t have any memorable lines, he won people over by being just quiet nice (he only received two nominations in total), and even having a Will they, won’t they? storyline with Megan, before her eviction.

‘I honestly can’t believe it. I need a drink and I need to know what’s going on,’ he told host Emma Willis after getting first place.

He made the best of his increased popularity and secured a presenting role on Just Tattoo of Us. On the show, people would get inked with a design that had been chosen by a loved one. Often, it would be some kind of prank and they’d be horrified.

Drug use

In 2017, Scotty T checked himself into a rehab in Scotland, after falling into a ‘lifestyle’ of drugs and partying following fame.

However, he admitted that after leaving the facility, he ‘started going mad again’. In January 2018, he was axed from Geordie Shore – allegedly due to being pictured taking drugs.

Scotty T admitted to using cocaine every day, and said it partly to block out his grief after the death of his stepfather and four close friends.

Speaking about his battle with drugs, he shared: ‘I was overthinking things and my anxiety was through the roof. I couldn’t even leave the house, it was horrible.

‘To cope I’d have cocaine. It helps me focus and concentrate. I was using it every day when I was off the rails and doing PAs up and down the UK – sometimes I was doing three in one day. I didn’t know how else to cope,’ he added to The Sun.

‘I’ve been to the brink and managed to pull myself back again but it’s been horrendous.’

Bankruptcy

Scotty T was declared personally bankrupt in 2019 after racking up a debt worth more than £147,000, following his company Scotty T Ltd going bust the prior year.

‘Scott Timlin did not fully co-operate with the bankruptcy proceedings and so his discharge has been suspended indefinitely until such time as he does,’ an Insolvency Service spokesperson said at the time. He was banned from running a business by the UK government.

He now earns money as an influencer, but in 2021, the Advertising Standards Agency reprimanded him for not clearly disclosing when he is advertising to consumers. He remains on their list of non-compliant social media influencers. Scotty T started posting explicit content on OnlyFans in 2020.

The big comeback

After being axed from Geordie Shore, he returned briefly as the housemates’ boss in 2019, and for a reunion party in 2022. However, now it’s been announced he is making a proper return for the latest series, surprising the current cast members.

He previously teased he could ‘treble the ratings’ if invited back, so let’s see if his prediction comes true!

Earlier this year, he also tested the waters by competing on Channel 4’s Celeb Cooking School, where a Michelin starred chef taught him how to cook. He was eliminated from the competition first, with Blu Hydrangea securing the win.

Geordie Shore is available to watch only on Paramount+ UK and MTV. The 25th series is expected to air later this year.
