Hollywood legend’s real-life daughter starred in Friends and no one realised-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Friends might have ended 20 years ago, but eagle-eyed fans are still spotting Easter eggs and celebrity cameos decades later.

The beloved sitcom, starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry, ran from 1994 until 2004.

Since the emotional finale, viewers have poured over the series in huge detail, thanks to countless reruns still airing today.

However, there is one tiny moment in season seven that no one seems to have picked up on until now, involving Susan Sarandon’s iconic cameo.

Taking to Reddit, ComprehensiveFlan638 unpacked the episode, The One With Joey’s New Brain, where the Hollywood legend appeared as Joey Tribbiani’s Days of our Lives co-star Cecilia Monroe, who played Jessica Lockhart.

In one scene, Jessica slapped her daughter to highlight their tumultuous relationship, before pulling her in for a passionate hug.

The Reddit user then dropped the bombshell that the star playing Jessica’s daughter was actually Susan’s real-life daughter, Eva Amurri.

They shared screenshots of the pair on set together, beside an interview they gave on the Today Show to hammer the point home.

‘Susan Sarandon appeared in TOW Joey’s New Brain, playing Cecilia Monroe, a DOOL actress depicting a character called Jessica Lockhart,’ they added.

‘This character had a funny arc in which Joey’s character Dr Drake Ramaroy, receives her transplanted brain after her daughter kills her.

‘Well, for those who didn’t know, the actress who played Jessica’s daughter is Eva Amurri, Susan’s real life daughter.’

Could you imagine Joey trying to untangle that?

Fans couldn’t get enough of the spot, flocking to the comments section to share their surprise at the truth behind Susan’s scenes.

ElmarSuperstar131 replied: ‘One of the best guest appearances, it was really fun to see them both.’

Duckytale agreed: ‘That was a cool easter egg.’

As Pirate_meow_kitty praised: ‘I watched Saved a long time ago, never knew she was Susan’s daughter. But now that I look at them it’s so obvious.’

Susan shares Eva with former partner Franco Amurri, an Italian filmmaker – the pair welcomed their only child together in March, 1985.

Eva followed her famous parents into the industry, and also starred opposite her mom in 2002 flick, the Banger Sisters.

She has also popped up in Saved!, Californication, How I Met Your Mother, New Girl and House.
