If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ll know that Birkenstocks are a trusty pick for millions.

The classic two-strap sandals are famed for their contoured footbeds that mould to the shape of the wearer’s feet over time.

What’s more, Birkenstock uses natural materials in their products and has implemented eco-friendly manufacturing practices.

But what do you do when you can’t afford to spend £80 on a new pair of sandals?

You turn to Lidl, of course!

While a branded high-street favourite sandal begs a splurge for stylish customers, the budget supermarket has produced dupes for just £6.99.

The copycat kicks emulate the most popular Birkenstock design, the two-strap Arizonas.

Lidl bosses say the sandals are “here to save the day and purse strings by offering a much cheaper alternative”.

Savvy shoppers can stock up on the new Livergy Sandals, which are hitting the Lidl middle aisle on May 19.

And at just £6.99 a pair, shoppers looking to toe the line of trendy without breaking the bank will save a whopping £73.

According to Lidl bosses, the sandals are made from sustainable water-based PU.

That means they’re created through eco-friendly leather production and have a “transparent supply chain”.
