South Park’s return date revealed as latest special parodies Ozempic craze-Laura Harman-Entertainment – Metro

As another special episode of South Park has been announced, fans want to know how long they’ll have to wait for the next instalment.

The animated series is a cult-favourite adult comedy cartoon that’s been running since the 90s. 

With more than 300 episodes released over the last 27 years, South Park has built up a loyal fanbase who love this surreal, dark comedy show. 

Since 2021, following the 24th season, the show’s creators have released special episodes in addition to the regular ones.

The most recent fifth and sixth special episodes were released in October and December respectively in 2023, and the seventh episode is set to be released this month.

Paramount released a new trailer for a special episode on May 15, revealing the title would be South Park: The End of Obesity.

When is South Park back?

It’ll focus on the use of weight loss drug Ozempic and the trailer suggests Cartman plays a key role in taking the drug as he is told he needs ‘drastic measures’ to get his weight under control.

The synopsis of the episode reads: ‘The advent of new weight loss drugs has a huge impact on everyone in South Park. When Cartman is denied access to the life-changing medicine, the kids jump into action.’

Where to watch South Park?

All seasons of South Park are available to watch on Paramount Plus or Amazon Prime with a Paramount Plus premium package.

This includes all six of the special episodes which have been released in between seasons since 2021.

When is South Park season 27 out?

Season 27 is thought to return at the end of 2024 or the start of 2025, but the creators have yet to reveal when the next season will be released.

Season 26 of the series was six episodes long and was released in February and March 2023, which means it’s been a long while since fans have had a full season to sink their teeth into.

Until the 27th season is released, fans must be content with the special episodes and hope that the next season is announced soon!
