Bridgerton season three truly is a feast for the eyes, but where is this gorgeous period drama filmed?
From the exquisite gowns the characters wear from their local dress shop Modiste to the jaw-dropping ballrooms where acts of courtship take place, there’s a lot to take in – especially if you (like us) watched the whole third series the day it came out.
The programme, which is based on Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton book series, is based in London around the time of the Regency era, during the rule of King George III (James Fleet) and Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel).
With the Netflix show returning for its third season, just where is it actually filmed?
Where was Bridgerton season 3 filmed?
While the TV show provides a fascinating insight into what life in the English capital may have been like at that time, filming actually took place in several locations around the country.
For some of the houses of families featured in the cast, the exteriors were filmed in one area and the interiors elsewhere.
Predominantly filming took place in Bath, Hertfordshire, Bristol, and Buckinghamshire.

The Bridgerton House
While the exterior of their elegant home was filmed at Ranger’s House in Greenwich, some parts of the house’s interior was captured at Royal Air Force station RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire.
The home is available to visit in real life, but isn’t actually adorned with the stunning purple wisteria that frames the house in the series.

The Featherington House
RAF Halton is also where some of the interiors of the Featherington house were filmed, according to Radio Times, which in the show is supposed to be situated directly opposite The Bridgerton House.
As for the exterior of the Featherington home, this was filmed off The Circus in Bath, a city where a significant bulk of production on the series took place. Other shots were also filmed in Hatfield House in Hertfordshire.

Lady Danbury’s Home
The city also provided the perfect estate for the home of the formidable Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), which some viewers may have been able to recognise as The Holburne Museum, an art gallery and Grade I listed building in Bath.
The city in Somerset has classic Georgian buildings which can be seen throughout the series.

The Modiste
The Modiste dress shop scenes were also filmed in the city of Bath, the exterior shots are actually The Abbey Deli, a small tea shop in the city centre.
Scenes of townspeople exiting their homes and reading Whistledowns’s updates were filmed at The Royal Crescent in Bath.
Other scenes filmed in Bath include the party scenes, which were filmed at Bath’s Assembly Rooms.
First Garden Party
In the first episode of season three, Colin and Penelope attend a garden party after the presentation of the debutants to Queen Charlotte.
This was filmed in Squerrys Court in Sevenoaks in Kent. The sprawling gardens are available to visit and is a working vineyard with a restaurant.
Other filming locations include: North Mymms Park, the interior of this historic estate was used to portray the gentlemen’s club frequented by the eldest Bridgertons.
Chiswick House was also used for various exterior shots, and Lancaster House and Hampton Court Palace were also key historic sites used for shots of Queen Charlotte’s home.
Bridgerton season 3 is available to watch on Netflix.
