Time to dust off the ol’ Xbox 360 (Xbox)

Tomb Raider and Far Cry 4 are among the 59 games that are on sale in the online Xbox 360 store, as it gets ready to close its doors.

Last year Microsoft announced that it will close the Xbox 360 store for good on July 29 this year, although games will still work via backwards compatibility on the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

Luckily it won’t be as bad as when Nintendo ended its online services for the Wii U and 3DS consoles in April, making it impossible to buy digital games and play already owned title online, although this is still another blow to the ongoing issue of game preservation.

Surprisingly, with 10 weeks to go until the Xbox 360 store shuts its doors, over 59 games have gone on sale, including 80% off Far Cry 4 and 75% off Tomb Raider.

The sales range between 50% and 90% off, but the vast majority of prices have been slashed by at least 80%.

Most of the games aren’t exactly big hitters, but prices are as low as 57p for Sniper: Ghost Warrior, for example.

Other games on sale include Far Cry 4, 80% off at £2.99, Tomb Raider, 75% off at £4.99, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, 80% off at £7.99, Just Dance 2019, 80% off costing £6.99, WRC 5, 90% off at £2.99, and Valiant Hearts, 80% off at £2.39.

The sales on the Xbox 360 store are live in the UK, the US, Europe, Australia, Canada, and Brazil.

‘To celebrate the legacy of Xbox 360, we’re working with our amazing publishing partners to bring you as many price reductions from our online store or from the Xbox 360 Store on the console,’ said Microsoft in a new blog post.

‘We’ll be updating this list with more games on June 18 and on July 16, bringing you as many repriced games as possible before the end of July. These price reductions will remain in place for each game through the 360 store closing on July 29.
