Alison Hammond, 49, addresses engagement rumours after sparking speculation with boyfriend, 26-Emily Bashforth-Entertainment – Metro

Alison Hammond is all loved up, but she won’t be walking down the aisle anytime soon.

The beloved daytime TV presenter, 49, is currently dating masseuse David Putman, 26, who was born and raised in Russia.

She is said to be ‘happier than ever’ after meeting David when she booked him for a £150 massage and they hit it off.

As their romance heats up, Alison finds herself at the centre of engagement rumours, having been spotted with what appeared to be a diamond on her ring finger.

Alas, ’twas nothing more than a sparkly accessory.

Addressing the speculation on This Morning alongside Friday co-host Dermot O’Leary, Alison laughed it off.

Starting off the Showbiz Roundup segment, she looked at a headline on her iPad and exclaimed with shock: ‘Hang on a minute, Alison Hammond’s engaged?’

‘Woah, woah, woah, woah, hello!’, said Dermot, taken aback.

‘Where did this scoop come from?’, he asked showbiz reporter Will Best, who then joked that he had a proposal for Alison himself.

‘Apparently, I’m in the Daily Mail today,’ Alison began explaining.

‘Basically, you’ve been wearing it on the wrong finger,’ Dermot chimed in, referring to her dazzling ring.

‘I’m so sorry. I put it on the wrong finger,’ she said, taking off her ring and swapping it to another finger.

‘Let me swap it over.’

As Big Brother host Will complimented the ‘gorgeous’ ring, Alison laughed.

‘Thank you so much. It’s just some cheap ring that I got from… probably Primark!’

As the camera zoomed in on her hands and showed off the gem, Alison reiterated: ‘Let me swap it over, because we don’t want those rumours going out there, do you know what I mean?’

‘Not just yet,’ Alison added.

‘Maybe one day, who knows.’

Alison and her boyfriend, David, have a 23-year age difference, but that isn’t getting in the way of their happiness.

David’s mother, Olga, is said to have been calling her son every day, pleading with him to break up with Alison.

But, he’s standing his ground.

A source told The Sun: ‘David is happy with his relationship so anything his mum says isn’t going to affect him.

‘She’s uncomfortable that her son is with someone who has so much more financial power than him. Olga’s traditional values don’t sit well with their relationship.

‘She’s told him in no uncertain terms that he must end it. Olga raised her children in the Orthodox Church. This kind of relationship doesn’t fit her beliefs.

‘She calls her son almost every day and tells him how unhappy she is.’   

Meanwhile, Alison is fully loved up and David has even met her teenage son.

Alison shares 19-year-old Aidan with her ex-husband Noureddine Boufaied.

Speaking to Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe on their Parenting Hell podcast, she shared that Aidan being in his teens has made things more difficult to navigate.

‘It’s more difficult, he is more verbal now that he is older. He’ll want to know who this person is and he’ll want to meet them.

‘It’s a lot harder. He’ll wanna know that this guy is treating me well.’

Alison added: ‘The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and is like,” Yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face.” Aidan is on it.’

Revealing Aidan’s reaction to her other half, Alison said of their meeting: ‘When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice.

‘Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aiden hates anybody I date, literally just not interested.’

‘And you just know at that point, if Aiden doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work. There are moments where I think, “Who’s the parent here?!”

‘It’s nice though because I always feel like there’s someone there looking over me, protecting me.’
