Former WWE diva Tammy Sytch has claimed she is worried she’ll die in prison after suffering with a blood clot behind bars.

The 51-year-old Hall of Famer, best known to fans as Sunny, is just six months into a 17-year jail sentence after being accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal car crash that killed a 75-year-old man in March 2022.

In November, Sytch was handed a 10 and a half year sentence for driving with a suspended license causing death, plus another seven years for DUI manslaughter, and eight years probation.

Earlier this year, she was moved to Florida’s Lowell Correctional Institution, and has since noticed something wrong with her leg.

She claimed she had severe swelling from her knee down to her toes, but despite seeking medical attention she struggled to get medical attention.

She told TMZ her leg had looked ‘like somebody put a bicycle tire pump on it and just inflated it twice the size’, with ‘funky colours’ and – and one point – a ‘huge red lump’ under her calf.

Speaking to the outlet from prison, she insisted it took days to get tests done, before being diagnosed with a blood clot which required treatment with blood thinners.

She claimed getting the medication has proven a struggle, and while she is optimistic, she could demand care at an off-site hospital.

She said: ‘All that’s been going through my mind for the past three weeks is, ‘Oh, my God, I’m going to follow in [my ex-husband’s] footsteps and die of a blood clot just like he did because I can’t get medical treatment at this prison.

‘It’s pretty bad.’

Sytch’s ex Chris Candido – who she never married – was initially believed to have died from a blood clot aged 33 in 2005 following surgery after collapsing and being rushed to hospital.

The wrestling legend was diagnosed with pneumonia and had his lungs drained, but died soon afterwards, and his autopsy later revealed he died from acute pneumonia after the surgery.

After Sytch – who was ranked as the most Googled celebrity in the world on AOL in 1997 – was sentenced, she addressed the courtroom and she broke down in tears as she apologised for her actions.

She told the victim’s family: ‘I know my words are not enough but please know that I think about you every day.’

She has been in prison for two years, after prosecutors claimed she collided while on the road and smashed her car into the back of another vehicle in March 2022.

The car that was hit was said to have been stopped at a traffic light at the time of the collision.
