Tootsie and 9 to 5 actor Dabney Coleman dies aged 92-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

Legendary comic actor Dabney Coleman, who starred in movies including 9 to 5 and Tootsie, has died aged 92.
Coleman starred alongside Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in 9 to 5, while in Tootsie he appeared opposite Dustin Hoffman, Bill Murray and Jessica Lange.
His numerous credits also included Nora Ephron’s romcom classic You’ve Got Mail, as well as TV shows such as Columbo, Yellowstone and Boardwalk Empire.
Coleman’s death was confirmed by his daughter, singer Quincy Coleman, to the Hollywood Reporter. She said he died on Thursday at his home in Santa Monica, California.
Quincy told the publication: ‘My father crafted his time here on Earth with a curious mind, a generous heart and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humor that tickled the funny bone of humanity.
‘As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence and mastery.
