Courteney Cox has said she is ‘visited a lot’ by her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry.
Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom from 1994 until it ended a decade later, died aged 54 in October last year.
His cause of death was later ruled to be an accident due to ‘drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine’ as well as ketamine usage.
Now, just over six months since Perry’s death, Cox has explained how he is still a presence in her life.
The 59-year-old actress, who played Chandler’s love interest Monica Geller on Friends, revealed she ‘senses’ him around her.
‘I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years. He visits me a lot, if we believe in that,’ she said on CBS’ Sunday Morning.
The sitcom, which ran from 1994 until 2004, also starred Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston (Picture: Jon Ragel/NBCUniversal via Getty Images via Getty Images)
‘I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that, I think, guide us.
‘I do sense — I sense Matthew’s around for sure.’
In the interview, Cox also said Perry was ‘so funny and had a genuinely huge heart’ but added that he ‘obviously struggled’.
Last year actress and Perry’s close friend Minnie Driver also shared how she believed starring on Friends contributed to his ‘inner struggle’.

‘He knew that Friends was never going to let him go. It was a pretty tight yoke,’ she wrote in a piece for The Guardian.
‘Part of Matthew’s inner struggle was that he was so closely identified with a role that was also beloved to him – one that he was so good at. But it also held him in a specific place, so it felt like a tug of war.’
Following his death, Perry’s former co-stars, which also included Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green) Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) and David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), issued a joint statement sharing that they were ‘devastated’ by the news.
‘We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able,’ they said.

‘For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.’
Two weeks later Cox also shared her own tribute on social media, writing she was ‘so grateful for every moment’ they shared and that she would miss him ‘every day’.
‘He was funny, and he was kind,’ she added after sharing a memory of their time together on the series.
Perry was buried at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles in November.
Friends is streaming on Netflix.
