Primark shoppers divided over Bridgerton inspired pjs as some say the floral designs ‘look like Wetherspoons merch’

PRIMARK fans have been left divided by their new Bridgerton inspired pyjamas, with some likening them to “Wetherspoons merch”.

The eagerly anticipated first half of the third series of the Regency Era drama landed on Netflix on Thursday and many of us have spent our weekend avidly watching the relationship between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) blossom.

As we wait for the second half of the series to drop on June 16th, Primark has released the perfect attire to wear for a Bridgerton watch party.

The collection consists of a blue and white floral satin robe, chemise, payjama bottoms and cropped pyjama shirt.

The robe is priced at £24 and each of the other items are priced at £14.

The items come in a wide range of sizes, from extra small to extra large, and you can purchase the pyjamas in store or via click and collect.

And for any budding Lady Whistledowns the high street store is also selling a collection of Bridgerton inspired notebooks, for just £3.

Primark said the collection will “bring a romantic, Regency feel” to your wardrobe and captures the “swoon-worthy essence” of the show.

However, not everyone is convinced.

Commenting under a video on the Primark TikTok account, where the fast-fashion store showed off the new range, some likened the new collection to “Wetherspoons merch”.

Popular budget pub chain Wetherspoons famously serves food on blue and white floral plates, not dissimilar from the patterns on the Primark pyjamas.

Highlighting this, one person said: “You know what Primark, when I want to look like a Wetherspoons plate I’ll hit you up.”

Another person said: “Whetherspoons merch”.

A third said: “Ultimate Spoons cop”.

However, many others were impressed by the pyjama set.

One person said: “Obsessed.”

Fabulous’ Deputy Fashion Editor on why Primark PJs are so popular

ABBY McHale reveals why Primark is renowned for its nightwear section.

Taking over large sections of the stores it has everything from trend led satin styles, to fluffy Disney PJ’s and everything in between.
Plus it means you can head to bed looking and feeling good without having to break the bank.
It’s also a great place to bag yourself a pyjama dupe.
Last year Primark had a great version of the Skims pyjamas and its latest dupe is that from Victoria’s Secret.
The pink striped pyjamas are a great match for that of the American lingerie brand, I even have a pair myself.
They’re lightweight, super comfortable and only a fraction of the price – what’s not to love.

Another added: “I need that dressing gown”.

A third said: “More reasons I need to go to Primark”.
