ITV viewers hail ‘best episode ever’ of new show as tensions escalate-Mel Evans-Entertainment – Metro

The Fortune Hotel fans were left desperately wanting to binge-watch the rest of the ITV series after the backstabbing turned up a notch.

But they will have to wait until tomorrow evening to get their next fix of the addictive reality series, which has been compared to The Traitors.

Tuesday’s episode of The Fortune Hotel was declared the ‘best ever’ by many fans on X – with several even stating it had changed their opinion of the show.

In the hour-long instalment, the pairs of contestants began to turn on each other and destroy rival alliances – with Adam and Michael angering Samm and Aysha by calling them ‘weak.’

In a plot twist, they were also all forced to swap their suitcases by presenter Stephen Mangan, leading to upset.

The move particularly rocked Jae and Cherish, who have so far been hesitant to let go of their luggage.

However, unlike the panicked Jae and Cherish, viewers were lapping up the drama.

@MattZeeMiller exclaimed: ‘Omg this is getting good. All bonds between teams out the window now and just telling everyone what’s said in the secret conversations and plotting.’

Echoing their sentiment, @ran956362 added: ‘This might be the best episode since the show started oh my days.’

Agreeing, @Harkinson stated: ‘This has definitely been the best episode yet. #TheFortuneHotel.’

Sadly for Adam and Michael, though, the fun was short-lived as they were the latest pairing to be booted from the show.

For the uninitiated, The Fortune Hotel follows pairs of contestants at a luxurious Caribbean hotel where they’re given an all-important suitcase that could hold wads of cash.

However, just one of those will hold the ultimate jackpot of £250,000.

Eight of the others are empty and the final one contains the dreaded Early Checkout Cash, which will send one pair packing.

Whichever pair is left holding the doomed case at the end of each night will have their stay brought to a dramatic and premature end.

The catch however is that contestants swap cases between them, with the couple performing best during daily tasks being allowed to choose first whether they want to keep their own suitcase, or swap it for another.

Who do you want to win?

The Fortune Hotel continues tomorrow on ITV and ITVX from 9pm.
