Logan Paul got shut down in the most beautiful way after refusing to believe a female journalist had him beat in an IQ test.

The controversial YouTuber turned WWE superstar, who holds the United States Championship and will face Cody Rhodes for the WWE Title in Saudi Arabia this weekend, was bragging about his intelligence without realising exactly who he was talking to.

Logan was chatting to broadcaster journalist turned WWE interviewer Cathy Kelley ahead of Saturday night’s show, but wasn’t aware she is a literal Mensa member, meaning she qualifies as a genius.

‘I came into WWE and I got my brain checked, and I got my IQ done,’ the outspoken social media star bragged in a semi-in character video. ‘It’s high. Guess.’

He acted insulted when she guessed 98, before joking he ‘should walk right now’ and leave the interview over the ‘insulting’ suggestion.

‘I know mine,’ she teased, before telling him it’s 142.

Logan immediately burst out laughing at the idea, and told Cathy: ‘No it’s not. I can guarantee you it’s not.’

‘Yeah it is,’ she said, remaining composed. ‘I’m in Mensa. I took a test that says I’m a genius. How long was my test? I think I sat in a room for two hours.’

‘That makes you extremely smart,’ he said, as she simply smiled and said ‘yes’, and then nodded when he added: ‘You’re that smart?’

He quickly shook her hand as she thanked him, and he played up his villainous character as he teased: ‘Way to go. SO I’m smarter than everyone here except you.’

He claimed to have an IQ of 139 himself, which puts him ‘right below the genius threshold’ as he humbly admitted: ‘So I guess technically I’m not a genius.’

Earlier in the conversation, playing into his role, Logan had claimed his brain was bigger than everyone in WWE’s, suggesting theirs were the size of a peanut.

‘So my brain isn’t a peanut,’ Cathy asked, while Logan conceded defeat, but insisted LA Knight and Braun Strowman fell into that bracket – although she pointed out he ‘doesn’t know’ for sure what their IQ is.

‘Look at their brain, it’s all skull,’ he joked. ‘I guarantee you, get an X-ray of any of these guys – hollow.’

Logan has made waves in the wrestling ring since his debut match at WrestleMania 38, while Cathy – a lifelong WWE fan – joined the company in 2016 for a four-year run before returning in 2022.

WWE King and Queen of the Ring airs Saturday, May 25 at 6pm. Tune in via the WWE Network.
