Good news for fans of iconic UK rock group Bring Me The Horizon, the band has reunited four years after their last album release.

Not only are they back, the Throne hitmakers have already dropped a brand new album giving only 24 hours notice to ecstatic fans.

This is the first time Bring Me The Horizon, fronted by Oli Sykes, will perform as a quartet after their keyboardist Jordan Fish left last year.

After rising to fame in the late 00s, they took to Instagram for the announcement and simply wrote: ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn.’

Fans were thrilled the album was finally being released after being delayed since last August and by midnight, their seventh studio album was with listeners.

Oli, 37, commented: ‘There’s a place I wanna take u.’

On Bring Me The Horizon’s social media, they added: ‘BMTH invites you to Ascend!+ POST HUMAN: NeX GEn [out midnight 24.05].’

Last month the Brit award winners teased the album may be on it’s way in a cryptic video.

‘You cling to your virtual identity as if it were your very soul,’ they said. ‘Pathetic. I’m here to wipe away the detritus of your existence.

‘All these thoughts, these memories, they are but a fleeting echo in an endless void. And just like that, you cease to exist in a digital realm. A mere blip erased from the annals of cyberspace. Farewell insignificant content.’

‘It’s time for a new era. Initialising NeX GEn.’

This came after Oli confirmed they were ‘nearly finished’ recording the long awaited album, having not released music since 2019’s Amo.

When accepting their first-ever Brit for Best Rock/Alternative Act in March, he shared: ‘It’s nearly finished, but it’s not finished. Every time we think we’ve got it; we get another song.

‘It’s going to be right good though, it’s our best album ever … worth the wait.’

He was joined on stage by Matt Kean, Lee Malia, and Mat Nicholls, who make up the rest of the band.

Drummer Mat, 38, agreed: ‘It’s not quite finished yet, but it’s closer than it ever has been. We came back off tour and – we’ve got a studio in Sheffield – just cracked on.

‘Got our heads down with everyone all together and we’re getting there. It’s this close…

‘It is really good, and we’re really happy with it but it takes time, doesn’t it? You can’t rush these things.’

Bring Me The Horizon has been releasing a trickle of singles since Post Human: Survival Horror in 2020, which was intended to be a four part project.

They said due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ they were forced to move the release, which had been originally set for release on September 15, 2023.

Then, in December, it was announced that programmer and keyboardist Jordan Fish – who was instrumental in their evolved sound – had departed the group.

A statement from the band at the time said: ‘Bring Me The Horizon has decided to part ways with Jordan Fish. We want to thank him for the musical journey he took with us and wish him luck with everything in the future.’

Jordan, 37, responded: ‘I’m really grateful for my 11 years with the band, and extremely proud of all that we have achieved together. I look forward to hearing what they do next, and wish them every success in the future.

‘I’m excited to start this next chapter in my career.’
