Kate Beckinsale has slammed critics making comments about her weight claiming she is ‘too thin.’

The Underworld star, 50, was forced to clap back after trolls inundated the comment section of her latest post with unwarranted observations about her appearance.

The star posted a clip to Instagram wearing a black retro dress and sky-high hairdo as she prepared for the 90s-based film Stolen Girl.

Despite having a fun time prancing around her trailer in the costumes, Instagram users were quick to criticise her appearance, with many suggesting she is ‘a bit too thin.’

In the now-deleted post, another wrote: ‘Please eat something. I love you, I’m very worried with your skinny look.’

The Pearl Harbor actor harrowingly stated she is ‘trying to survive’ following numerous losses in her personal life as she addressed the comments.

The post comes after Beckinsale lost her stepdad Roy Battersby earlier this year, while her mum Judy Loe also battles health issues.

The Van Helsing star was also left devastated by the death of her cat Clive last year, as well as her own health woes that have seen her hospitalised.

‘I have been really sad. I watched my second dad die. It made me sick. Sorry you find me less attractive. Couldn’t give a f**k,’ she replied to a comment.

She continued: ‘I nursed my [stepdad] to his death early this year. My mum also has stuff going on. I am adjusting to watching two fathers die, one when I was 5, one in January of this year.

‘I lost my soulmate cat of almost 19 years, also last year. I spent six weeks in hospital due to copiously vomiting blood from a [Mallory-Weiss tear] caused by the stress of a whole year ripping a hole between my [oesophagus] and stomach.’

Additionally, she explained she had experienced a ‘severe flare’ of her mast cell disease due to ‘stress, shock, and grief.’

‘That’s what I am prepared to disclose that has contributed to some weight loss,’ she said.

‘What you think of my appearance and how I should look, independently of any circumstances in my life and my family’s is not important.

‘I am trying to survive what feel like unbearable losses, reactivated PTSD from discovering my very young father’s almost dead body as a very young child alone in the night, and working to support the family I have left.’

She further defended herself against a user ‘bullying females about their appearance’,telling them to ‘do better.’

‘The fact you fancy girls who are heavier than I am does not feature in things that are important or relevant,’ she raged.

‘I don’t care what your taste in women is. I care that you think any of us need to be apprised of it … Do better.’

She then fired back at another commenter who urged her to gain weight, simply writing ‘enough.’

It comes after the actor appeared to issue a warning to an unnamed abuser on Instagram, stating that their ‘time is coming’.

Days after a shocking video emerged of rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016, the Underworld actress shared a very cryptic post on social media, vowing that people ‘can’t get away with abuse forever’.

Taking to her Instagram story, she re-posted an upload from PhilanthropyGal over the musician’s recent apology, which read: ‘I don’t know who needs to hear this but can’t beat the s**t out of your girlfriend and then just apologize [sic].’
