Robson Green has given a glimmer of hope to fans that he could reunite with Jerome Flynn for the 30th anniversary of their hit single.
Together, the actors formed the pop duo Robson & Jerome, after their characters Dave Tucker and Paddy Garvey on the ITV drama Soldier Soldier sang a cover of Unchained Melody. They performed the single during a plot where the entertainment failed to appear at a wedding, which led to viewers trying to buy the music. Simon Cowell discovered the interest and convinced them to record the song.
Months later, their cover was released as a double single with White Cliffs of Dover. It reached number one in the charts, stayed there for seven weeks, and became the best-selling single of 1995.
They went on to release covers of I Believe, and What Becomes of the Brokenhearted, which also hit number one. In total, they sold seven million copies of their two albums, and five million copies of the three singles released but decided to call it a day in 1997.
With the 30th anniversary of Unchained Melody coming up, fans are naturally curious if they could reunite.
Ranvir Singh asked Robson, 59, directly if it was a possibility when he sat down on the Lorraine show sofa.

‘Money talks,’ he simply replied before laughing.
The host also enquired if Robson and Game of Thrones actor Jerome, 61, ever hum the song at each other during phone conversations.
‘We don’t no. We chat about it. It’s fond memories,’ he clarified.
‘We hung the microphone up a long time ago.’
Although the dabble in the music industry happened nearly three decades ago, Robson still recalls some of the impact. ‘People named their pets after Robson & Jerome,’ he stated.

Earlier in the show, his appearance was teased with a short audio clip of Unchained Melody. Robson, who was promoting his travel series, Into the Amazon, quipped that he had done other stuff since the 90s.
As well as acting in Wire in the Blood and Grantchester, Robson also presents travel documentaries including Extreme Fishing, Tales from Northumberland and Tales From The Coast, in which he reunited with Jerome, who showed his former singing partner around his home, Pembrokeshire.

Robson & Jerome’s time releasing music was never a planned career move, but rather a vision orchestrated by Simon. The 64-year-old has since admitted that he was so passionate about convincing the men to record their cover that he received a legal letter.
‘It took me seven months to persuade these two to sign a recording contract with me,’ Simon said on Oprah Winfrey’s Masterclass show in 2011.
‘But I drove them so mad that I actually got a solicitor’s letter from one of them saying I had to stop harassing his client.
‘The reason I kept doing it was a) I knew I could persuade them to do it and b) I knew it would be successful.’
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
