Jon Bon Jovi was in a romantic mindset this evening as he confirmed his son Jake Bongiovi did indeed marry Millie Bobby Brown earlier this month.

The Stranger Things actress, 20, sent fans into a spin when she confirmed her engagement to the 22-year-old a year ago, and last week the couple made headlines with reports they had tied the knot in a low-key celebration.

The It’s My Life hitmaker, 62, has now spilled the beans on tonight episode of The One Show, as he also discussed his new music and recent health battles.

When asked about the suspected nuptials and how the happy couple are doing, he said: ‘They’re great, they’re absolutely fantastic.

‘It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. Yeah, it’s true.’

On the subject of weddings, Jon also revealed his new song Legendary – from his new album, Forever – is about his wife of 35 years and high school sweetheart Dorothea Hurley.

‘My wife is in fact my brown-eyed girl who believed in me to get through this surgery,’ he said.

Referring to Van Morrison’s famous song called Brown Eyed Girl, Jon’s lyrics of his new 2024 track from his 18th album go: ‘Got my brown-eyed girl, and she believes in me.’

The Livin’ On A Prayer hitmaker has suffered with his vocal cords over the last few years, and was forced to undergo vocal fold medialisation procedure, also known as thyroplasty, in 2022.

Updating fans on his condition – which he opened up about in recent Hulu documentary Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi story – the singer said: ‘I’m great, I’m well on the road to recovery.’

Talking about his new album, Jon also said he’d ‘rediscovered the feeling of joy’.

He revealed that Steph was one of the last people to hear it – even though he will perform it at her upcoming wedding – as Jon was actually ‘afraid’ to give it to her incase she didn’t love it.

‘Hopefully it will be other people’s wedding song too,’ the rockstar added.

Jon also momentarily raised his eyebrows when asked about a tour, but didn’t give his fans any solid news having previously said he wasn’t sure his health would be up to it.

‘It is my desire to do a tour next year, but I’m just still recovering from a major surgery,’ he previously told Boston’s Mix 104.1.

‘I’m well on the road to recovery and was able to take my time and do a song a day when I made the record,’ he said, but declared his ‘need’ was to be able to perform for ‘two-and-a-half hours a night four nights a week for months on end.’

Last month the legendary frontman revealed he initially ‘wasn’t that impressed’ with Bon Jovi’s biggest hit Livin’ On A Prayer.

The single was the band’s first number one song on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and has since been certified triple platinum for over three million digital downloads worldwide.

‘It wasn’t that I didn’t want to record it, but I wasn’t all that impressed on the day that we wrote it,’ he said.

‘It was the simple chord progression, the melodies and the lyrics [at first]. But the bass line came to life in the demo studio, when we took it back to the band and worked it up. That’s how it became what it is.’

He continued to People Magazine: ‘We knew what we wanted, we just didn’t have it, and so I was like, “Yeah, it’s good. Good day. Good day at the office,” and I was wrong. It’s one of the biggest songs in our catalogue.’

The One Show airs on BBC One weekdays at 7pm.
