Race Across the World concluded with a gripping finale, leaving us wanting more of the addictive BBC reality competition show.

Luckily, we’ve got the second series of a spin-off version to look forward to soon – Celebrity Race Across the World.

Four celebrities will be joined by a teammate and challenged to make it from Africa to the Arctic across 24 countries. They must use any means necessary on a limited budget to travel as quickly as possible and beat their competitors.

Rather than getting VIP treatment, they will face the same challenges as the original show. The pairs are prohibited from using planes, smartphones, or the internet to navigate or translate any language.

Alex Beresford and his dad Noel won the first series after beating All Saints singer Melanie Blatt and her mother, Helene, McFly drummer Harry Judd and his mother, Emma and former British F4 Racing Driver Billy Monger and his sister, Bonny.

Who will be hoping to emulate their success? Check out the current rumoured participants…

Model and presenter Kelly Brook, 44, is said to be one of the star signings for the popular show and will be joined by husband Jeremy Parisi, 39.

The pair, who’ve been together for nine years and married for two, regularly post photos on social media of their globe-trotting adventures – that experience could come in handy. Although, we imagine they are used to slightly more luxurious vacations.

‘Kelly has travelled all over the world with Jeremy – and she’s really competitive so she’ll be brilliant TV,’ a source told The Sun.

The publication also claims that they’ll be joined by Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokinni, 31, who is a ‘big fan’ of the series, as well as presenter Jeff Brazier, 45, and his youngest son Freddie.

While Bobby Brazier, 20, has been following in his dad’s famous footsteps with a role on EastEnders and a successful stint on Strictly Come Dancing, Freddie, 19, has so far remained off-screen aside from sitting in the audience of the dancing show.

Now, viewers will be able to get to know the other member of the Brazier clan a lot more.

After last night’s episode, a short teaser for the upcoming special was played, showing the celebrities tackling mountain terrain. Fans recognised the voice of BBC Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills, 51, who is said to be taking part with his fiancé Sam Vaughan.

‘OMG was that @scott_mills’s voice I just heard in the Trailer for Celebrity Race Across The World?’ wrote Ryan.

A specific date is yet to be given for the return of Celebrity Race Across the World, but we shouldn’t have too long to wait as in the teaser clip, two magic words flashed up on the screen – ‘Coming soon’. When contacted by Metro.co.uk, BBC added it would be later this year.

The voiceover said: ‘This journey may be over,’ as footage played of the series four finale, before adding: ‘But a new one is about to begin.’ It went on to share that it would be coming soon to BBC One and iPlayer.

Keeping us on our toes, the trailer didn’t show the faces of the participants and kept dialogue to a minimum, but they matched the descriptions of the rumours.

Race Across the World is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
