I’m a size 16-18 and ditched my trusty Shein for a Cider summer haul – flattering bodysuit was surprise hit and only £16

A PETITE mum who usually swears by Shein ditched her trusty retailer for a Cider summer haul – and has been left raving about a £16 bodysuit.

Zoe Sullivan, who is a curvy 5ft 2in, loves sharing the clothing hauls she gets for her 12 kids with followers online but rarely buys anything for herself.

The 45-year-old previously admitted: “I don’t often buy things for me. Mainly because I don’t like shopping for myself. I love shopping for the kids.

“Body image has always been a little bit of an issue, but I’m getting better.

“Having lots of children and getting older has changed my body shape.

“It’s difficult to accept, but [now] I’m like this is the size I am and I’m going to buy clothes that I like in the proper size rather than squeeze into a size that’s too small and not wearing it because it doesn’t look right.”

In a recent spree, she decided to give online retailer Cider a try after spotting some of their viral items on TikTok and Instagram.

She admitted: “I’m always a bit funny with buying from new places because I’ve been every size going over the years.

“I do a lot of Shein hauls because I’m kind of comfortable with the sizing.

“So it’s the first time I’ve ever ordered anything from them [Cider].

“But it all looks quite comfortable [and] it’s pretty reasonably priced.”

At a size 16-18, Zoe falls directly in the middle of the brand’s main range and their curve collection so picked up a mix of sizes to test them out.

She splashed out £100 on staple pieces which she says can be worn as four or five outfits.

And she was delighted by a patterned bodysuit that she admits she didn’t think she would be able to pull off.

The £16 Toile De Jouy Bodysuit is available in an inclusive size range from a 4-24.

Zoe picked it up in an 18 and paired it with £13 stretchy blue trousers in a size 16.

She said: “I really like it. It wouldn’t be something that I would have thought I could get away with wearing at all.

“But it’s actually really flattering. I really, really like it.”

And Zoe’s not the only one who loves it, with raving reviews pouring in on the Cider website.

One shopper gushed: “I love wearing this with a turtle neck underneath or alone! It’s very comfortable and I love the adjustable straps just incase you want to show some cleavage.”

Another added: “Absolutely love this body suit! It can be dressed up for an evening look or dressed down for a day look. Highly recommend for an elegant look.”

“I’ve had loads of compliments when wearing it, I love it”, chimed in a third.

A fourth wrote: “This is adorable! Cutest print ever for summer!”

Meanwhile, a fifth added: “Love! Fits nicely, was worried about sizing but I really love it ! It’s stretchy but fits in all the right places.”

Zoe also picked up a £19 jumpsuit which she hailed as “really, really flattering” as well as a pair of jeans, some sleeveless ruched crop tops and a dungaree-style playsuit.

She said: “This haul has been a revelation. I was really unsure about a lot of things.

“When I order stuff from Shein it’s still very safe things. But I’m starting to get out of my comfort zone a little bit.

“I’m really impressed, I’m really happy.”

How to look chic on a budget

Fashion stylist Gemma Rose Breger, and beauty journalist Samantha Silver revealed how you can make your outfits elevated without spending hundreds of pounds.

Don’t ever spend on designer denim: River Island ”always has such a great selection with fashion- forward jeans that follow the current trends”. The high street retailer offers a great range of sizes to fit UK 6 – UK 18, and three leg lengths – and prices start from an affordable £25.
There are no rules for jewels: ”Pick up something at a car boot sale, or charity shop, scroll on Vinted & eBay, snap up something from the clothing section in your local supermarket when doing the food shop or check out high street clothing stores.”
Don’t forget the pre-loved sites: With a rising number of second-hand sites, such as Vinted and Depop, there really is no excuse of not buying – or selling – pre-loved garments. Gemma, for instance, has managed to get her hands on chic Chanel sunnies for a mere £17.

Zoe, husband Ben, 49, and their dozen children make up one of Scotland’s biggest families.

The couple are parents to Elisabeth, 19, Olivia, 17, Noah, 14, Evangeline, 12, Tobias, 11, Agnes, seven, Joseph, five, Florence, two, and two sets of twins – Charlotte and Isabelle, 16, and Leah and Erin, eight.

The bumper brood live in a six-bedroom house in Burghead, Moray, where they regularly document their hectic lives on their YouTube channel.

We told earlier how Zoe only gets four hours of sleep each night – but would still never say never to baby number 13.

The supermum gets up every morning at 4.45am after only settling down the night before at around midnight.

She said: “I can’t bear being late to anything, and I can’t bear being rushed.

“So if I get up early, I can have a shower, think about what I’m going to do for the day, and get ready.

“I like to get some of the chores in as well before the kids go to school, so I might do two loads of washing and those sorts of things. It does let me get more done.

“I don’t get to bed until around midnight, so I probably average four or five hours’ sleep – on a good night.”

But she still “would never say no” to having another baby, and added: “I think the more we had, the more we realised how much we love having a big family.

“And to be honest, the more you have, the easier it gets, in a weird sort of way.”
