Konami may have pushed back Metal Gear Solid Delta to next year, as an insider claims we’ll hear more about the remake soon.
While the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake (named Delta) was expected to come out this year after it appeared in a PlayStation 2024 reel, that might no longer be the case.
Announced last year, Metal Gear Solid Delta is described as a ‘faithful recreation’ of 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater with overhauled visuals and a bizarre new name.
A dataminer has now suggested the remake may have slipped into 2025, and we might not have long to wait to see if it’s true.
According to reliable leaker billbil-kun via Dealabs, a ‘global distribution giant’ currently has a placeholder date of December 31, 2025 for Metal Gear Solid Delta.
While the leaker states they couldn’t verify the release date with another source, they believe an announcement about the game will be made ‘within the next 10 days’, citing June 6 as a possible date.
They also claim pre-orders for two physical editions of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X will go live following the announcement, with the standard edition reportedly priced at $69.99 (roughly £54.99) and a collector’s edition costing a whopping $199.99 (£159.99).
If true though, it’s more likely that it will appear at Summer Game Fest on June 7, unless Konami decides to host its own showcase before then, like with Silent Hill.
Following Sony’s recent State Of Play presentation, fellow leaker Midori has claimed more games from PlayStation studios will be shown at Summer Game Fest too – which might relate to the rumoured crossover between Lego and Horizon Zero Dawn.
They also claim Metaphor: ReFantazio, a new role-player from the creators of Persona, will make an appearance at the event, alongside Sonic x Shadows Generations.

Along with Delta, Konami is working on the second volume of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection – which is expected to include Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker, and other recent entries.
There were also rumours of another remake for the original Metal Gear Solid, but nothing has been officially announced.
