Do you agree with the ranking? (The Pokémon Company)

A YouTuber puts all 1,098 pokémon up against each other to see which ones are the best and which are the worst of ’em all in a huge ranking.

Pokémon fans are an especially creative bunch, with one example being when a YouTuber taught his Artificial Intelligence software how to play Pokémon Red earlier this year – and it did quite well.

Now another YouTuber has set out on a quest to find out which pokémon is the strongest out of all 1,098 pokémon once and for all, and which ones are the most useless in a battle.

According to YouTuber Asteroid Videos and his 1,810,053 simulations, that puts all pokémon up against each other in one-versus-one fights, the strongest pokémon is… Eternamax.

Eternamax is followed by Miraidon as the second strongest pokémon, and Koraidon. Mega Rayquaza. and Reshiram make the rest of the top five.

Unsurprisingly there are some Generation 1 pokémon at the bottom of the list, like Magikarp, Weedle, and Metapod. But the absolute weakest pokémon ever is actually legendary pokémon Cosmog.

Just ahead of Cosmog are Cosmoem, Caterpie, Magikarp, and then Pidove in the ranking.

The YouTuber uses a code and program that can simulate trainer battles to determine which ones are the strongest. But instead of trainer battles, he tweaks the code so that it simulates all pokémon, based on their abilities.

The ranking is made out of each pokémon facing off against every other pokémon three times, resulting in 3,291 battles each, as seen in his video.

There are so many pokémon to compare, so if you want to dive into it further, here’s the Google Sheet page of the ranking and win percentage of each pokémon.

The simulations also identify Generation 8 as the collection with the strongest starter pokémon out of the nine generations, followed by Generation 1 and 9.

The starter pokémon that won the most battles is Cinderace and, if you’re wondering which starter pokémon is the better out of Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, it’s Blastoise.

The simulations also show that pokémon are just getting stronger with each generation, and Generation 9 has the best pokémon, followed by Generation 7 then 8.

So now we know which pokémon are the strongest and weakest until another Pokémon fanatic comes along with a new list based on all the data.

The top ten strongest pokémon:

Eternamax
Miraidon
Koraidon
Mega Rayquaza
Reshiram
Palkia
Flutter Mane
Xerneas
Origin Palkia
Arceus
