Rupert Murdoch and molecular biologist Elena Zhukova are now married

Rupert Murdoch has married Elena Zhukova at his Californian Vineyard.

The media mogul, 93, and retired molecular biologist, 67, tied the knot after a few months of dating.

Murdoch has previously been wed four times, most recently to Jerry Hall, which lasted from 2016 to 2022.

Guests included New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and his wife Dana Blumberg as well as News Corp chief executive Robert Thompson for the ceremony on June 1.

Murdoch is the chairman emeritus of News Corporation, who owns The Sun, Fox News and Wall Street Journal.

After standing down as chairman in November after 70 years, Murdoch’s son Lachlan took over the responsibilities.

For the special day at the Moraga vineyard at the Bel Air home, Zhukova chose a mid-length white off-the-shoulder dress and carried Lily of the Valley flowers, while Murdoch went for a classic suit.

The newlyweds posed for photos in the sprawling grounds, and couldn’t stop smiling after saying ‘I do’.

Murdoch, who has a reported net worth of $21.7 billion, is said to have met Zhukova, through his third wife Wendi Deng, 55.

In 2023, Murdoch was engaged to former police chaplain and vineyard owner Ann Lesley Smith but it was called off two weeks after it was announced.

The former couple share daughters Grace, 23, and Chloe, 21. Murdoch also has daughter Prudence MacLeod, 66, with his first wife Patricia Booker, daughter Elisabeth, now 55, and sons Lachlan, 52, and James, 51, with his second spouse Anna Mann.

He had no children with Hall, who finalised their divorce in August 2022. Their lawyers said at the time: ‘Jerry Hall and Rupert Murdoch have finalized their divorce. They remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future.’ 

However, it was later reported by Vanity Fair that she was banned from contacting HBO over their hit series Succession to stop her from providing them with ideas for storylines based on her marriage to the media tycoon.
