Cyndi Lauper is set to celebrate her iconic career in style by embarking on a huge farewell tour, complete with special guests.

The Girls Just Want To Have Fun singer has been a fixture of the industry for decades, releasing debut album She’s So Unusual in 1983 – which hit the top five in charts around the world.

Earlier today, the 70-year-old announced that she will be setting off on the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour later this year, across 23 cities.

This will be her first prolonged stint on the road in over a decade, following her last headline tour in 2013.

A joint Instagram post from Cyndi and LiveNation confirmed: ‘It’s official! Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour is coming, and we couldn’t be more excited!

‘Get ready to sing along to all your favorites and make some amazing memories. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Who’s coming with us?’

Fans were delighted by the news, flooding the comments section with excitement over the upcoming shows.

Taniammcgrath replied: ‘She is a great inspiration back then and still now.’

Jonathandavid agreed: ‘Every time I’ve seen her has been an amazing show, I can’t wait!’

While many more begged the music legend to get a few more locations on her schedule.

Cyndi will be kicking the party off in Montreal on October 18, before stops in Boston, Nashville, Atlanta and LA.

Despite being in the spotlight for decades, she is marking her very first headline performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden – before wrapping her farewell tour in Chicago on December 5.

Presale tickets will be available from Tuesday morning, while the general sale will begin on Friday morning.

As well as the tour, cameras will be exploring her extraordinary life and career for a documentary titled Let The Canary Sing – which is premiering on June 4.

If that wasn’t enough, she will be honored with an imprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood on the same day.

Bring on the celebrations!
