If you’ve been struggling to find the perfect outfit for a special occasion, you’ve probably not been to New Look recently.

Thankfully, eagled-eyed shoppers have been trawling the sale rail at the store and claim to have found the ‘perfect’ dress for every event.

It’s not hard to see why fashionistas have fallen for the Blue Floral Flutter Sleeve Asymmetric Ruffle Midi Dress either.

With its stunning baby blue print, this dress looks gorgeous and you won’t have to worry about committing a fashion faux pas either.

As the name suggests, the fast fashion buy has a delicate daisy print which is perfect for summer weddings, christenings or even, a day at the races.

For those who still aren’t sold, the high street gown also has a super flattering silhouette too.

In fact, the product description says: “With its floral print, ruffle trims and flutter sleeves, this blue midi dress has ‘special occasion’ written all over it.”

The fashion find even has a split hem and round neckline, which amps up the feminine feel to the New Look dress.

With wedding season now in full swing, the dress has quickly gained a four out of five stars rating on the New Look website.

In fact, fashionistas have left multiple rave reviews with one writing that the dress was a ‘must-have’ for this summer.

“A must-have dress for summer. Really good fit and nice light material,” gushed one happy customer after awarding the dress five stars.

Another also said that it was perfect for summer weddings, writing: “Loveeee love loveeee. Beautiful dress for a wedding.”

Some shoppers have even tried and tested the dress, with a third revealing: “Lovely fit & colour. Perfect for my afternoon tea in London.”

While most customers have awarded the dress five stars, a few have revealed that the dress easily creases.

One complained: “Beautiful and really flattering dress. The quality of the material could be better, and needs a good iron, but I’m really happy with it.”

“Creases easily. This looked much better on the model in the photo and I struggled to make it fall correctly. The material was very thin and it creased really easily,” another moaned, still awarding it three stars.

If you are tempted to try the Blue Floral Flutter Sleeve Asymmetric Ruffle Midi Dress for your next wedding, you can find it on sale at New Look right now.

Though it usually retails for around £39.99, the website has reduced it to just £30 and the dress is available in sizes 6 to 10.

There are also limited plus sizes (16-22) still available but the Fabulous team recommends checking your local stores to avoid disappointment.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Dos and don’ts of wedding dress codes

By Josie Griffiths, Fabulous deputy editor and bride-to-be.

I’ll never forget the wedding I went to in October 2022 where a guest wore a white dress.
It was ill-fitting, knee length and looked nothing like an actual wedding dress, but that didn’t stop everyone judging her.
The rules on wedding guest outfits – which are annoyingly loads stricter for women than they are for men – are meant to be about “not upstaging the bride”, which in reality is quite hard to do on someone else’s wedding day.
But if you get it wrong as a guest, you do end up looking a bit silly, and in front of loads of people who don’t know you personally.
It’s just not the occasion for your new white dress, as much as online stores love dumping them in the ‘wedding guest’ section.
I’d avoid anything too tight/short, and ditch super formal gowns unless the dress code calls for them – you don’t want to be in a full length sequin gown at a smart casual event.
Personally I don’t like black dresses either, it isn’t a funeral.
Otherwise you should be pretty safe. Technically wearing red means you’re in love with the groom, but that’s the kind of rule most people would scoff at nowadays.
I do always check what colour the bridesmaids are in, just to be safe, after the Spanish wedding where I watched them walk down the aisle in the exact same dress I’d had in my Asos shopping basket just weeks earlier.
If in doubt, safest to just double check with the bride… but if you’re already doubting your dress that might be all the answer you need.
