Katie Price might be about to revive her pop career after wowing fans with a surprise performance at Mighty Hoopla Festival on Saturday.

The TV personality and former glamour model, 46, took to the stage in an all-pink catsuit, which was decorated by little cut-out pictures of her own face.

Her surprise show comes after reports that she’ll have to sell her Mucky Mansion home in Sussex after being declared bankrupt for the second time in five years.

But her financial woes appeared to be at the very back of her mind as she graced the Brockwell Park stage and sang her heart out as she performed her 2017 single I Got U.

And it seems the mum-of-five’s energetic display went down a storm with those in attendance, with social media buzzing with excitement once it was over.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard said, ‘Obsessed with this! And I know I’m gonna have “Katie, Katie, Katie Pwiceee” in my head all day,’ as fans begged the drag queen to bring Katie to Warrington Pride next week.

The ‘Katie, Katie, Katie Price’ chant was started by the DJ onstage at the time – he played loud drum and bass music as Katie danced and strutted her stuff around the stage.

Another fan, @thattattooedchickgoldz, said: ‘It’s the outfit for me, such a Katie Price thing to do – you make me laugh. I love how, whether people agree or not, you just do what you want. Gotta rate that tbh!’

Katie Price’s singing career

It’s not the first time Katie has performed I Got U live, with several videos posted on YouTube showing she’s played the track at venues of many sizes up and down the country.

At the time, it was her third single to be released in the UK, with her pop career beginning in earnest back in 2006 – she was married to popstar Peter Andre at the time.

Following their marriage in 2005, the pair recorded an album, titled A Whole New World, which reached number 20 in the UK album charts and featured covers of romantic hits such as Endless Love, Islands in the Stream, and I’ve Had the Time of My Life.

The album had initially been recorded in private, with Peter wanting it to stay that way, but several songs were leaked onto the internet, prompting interest from Universal Music Group.

It was eventually certified Gold after selling 150,000 copies, but Katie and Peter were dropped from the label anyway and divorced three years later.

Katie also made a bid to be the UK representative at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005, but failed to qualify, with Javine’s song Touch My Fire being chosen ahead of her.

In 2010, Katie released the single Free to Love Again, which failed to make the UK top 40 and looked to spell the end of her pop career.

Past performances of her songs on TV have drawn criticism, but Katie has remained defiant, saying: ‘I’m a frustrated pop star and I won’t let anything stand in my way.’

She continued: ‘The songs I sang with Pete were all covers. They weren’t made for my voice. I’m singing I Got U live, I’m confident this time and I will never mime it.’

Not to be deterred, Katie has since released I Got U (which failed to chart) in 2017 and Hurricane in 2019 with dance and electronic act Rick Live.

Any return to pop would be placed against the backdrop of her mounting financial issues, with Katie apparently moving out of Mucky Mansion into a smaller home nearby.

While rent for the property is said to be costing Katie almost £5,000 a month, the move was reportedly hurried through after an ‘acid attack’ at Mucky Mansion.
