It could soon be ‘Sir David Beckham’ after the football ace was spotted charming King Charles after being named an ambassador for the King’s Foundation.
The England football legend, 49, attended a meeting with the monarch at his Highgrove home in Gloucestershire to discuss the work of the charity.
The unlikely duo were pictured laughing together outside the grand building, with Beckham announcing to his Instagram followers he had been made an ambassador for the foundation.
He said he was ‘honoured’ to take on the position, and shared what he and the King had talked about during their meeting – including their shared passion for beekeeping.
Posting a picture of them mid-laughter, Beckham wrote: ‘I’m honoured to become an Ambassador for The King’s Foundation.
‘It was inspiring to hear from His Majesty about the Foundation’s projects and ambitions during my recent visit to Highgrove Gardens… As someone who grew up in London but has developed a love of the countryside, I’m looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and efforts to ensure young people have a greater understanding of nature ❤️ and we shared beekeeping tips! 🐝😂 @kingsfdn @highgrovegarden.’

Fans flocked to the comments asking the King to ‘make Sir David happen’ and give the football star a Knighthood.
Many theorised the King will announce that David is receiving the historic title ‘soon’, and were quick to share why they think he deserves it.
‘David is a great ambassador for all of the UK, he’s the best of British,’ Stumpygryphon wrote.
Katelongbridge added: ‘He’s a brilliant role model for young people, hes a great family man, he doesn’t run around with women, lots of great things about our David 🥳 and he a Londoner through and through, he doesn’t forget his roots, well done darling David.’
Fyfaussie added: ‘You’re a real credit to the UK David ❤️🙌 the King is obviously a very astute man and has chosen well.’

Beckham’s family also shared their congratulations, with his mother Sandra saying his ‘nan and grandad would be so proud.’
She wrote: ‘Such a proud mum ❤️Amazing pictures standing with the king just know that nan and grandad would be so proud of you xx.’
His sister Jo added: ‘Who would have ever thought my brother would be standing laughing with the king ! These pictures are amazing ! So So proud of you and everything you do 🫶🏼 always xx.’
The King’s Foundation was formed in 1986 and aims to support ‘sustainable communities’ with a focus on education for young people.
Kristina Murrin, Chief Executive of The King’s Foundation, said of Beckham’s appointment: ‘We are delighted to welcome David Beckham to The King’s Foundation family as an ambassador.
‘We look forward to working with David over the coming months and years, to share the good work of the Foundation with a wider audience.’
