Halsey has revealed that she is ‘lucky to be alive’, after enduring a secret health battle.
The Without Me singer announced their new single, The End, on Instagram earlier today, while giving fans a glimpse into issues they’ve faced behind the scenes.
In a new post, the 29-year-old – who uses she/they pronouns – could be seen massaging their legs while in pain, complaining to the camera about feeling ‘sick’.
‘I feel like an old lady. I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick,’ she said. ‘[At] 30 I’m having a rebirth, and I’m not going to be sick, and I’m going to look super hot and have lots of energy.
‘I’m just going to get to re-do my 20s in my 30s. Seriously.’
The second clip showed Halsey hooked up to machines and wearing a face mask, explaining that it was ‘day one of treatment’.
A final video showed a snippet of the musician in the studio while recording The End.
‘Long story short, I’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, I wrote an album,’ she wrote beside the carousel. ‘It begins with The End. out now.’
Although she didn’t detail her exact diagnosis, she tagged The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Lupus Research Alliance in the post.
Right on cue, fans flooded the comments section with support for the music icon, real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane.
Bella.Whitley replied: ‘I love you. Chronic illness is hell but you’re incredible.’
Lennyuska agreed: ‘I love you so much Halsey, thank you for your bravery and resilience.’
‘Oh angel we love you & support you so dearly! Thank you for sharing something so personal with us. Love you always,’ _MarisaPena penned.

Halsey has been vocal about their health issues over the last few years, after previously being diagnosed with endometriosis.
According to the World Health Organization, the chronic condition – in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus and causes severe pain and reproductive complications – occurs in roughly 10% of reproductive-age people with uteruses worldwide.
In 2022, she explained that she had also diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s syndrome, mast cell activation syndrome, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome – after an eight-year battle to find out what was wrong.
Following the diagnosis, the mom-of-one revealed that she was repeatedly dismissed as ‘crazy and anxious and lazy’ as she tried to get to the bottom of her symptoms.

‘I just want to clarify, for the benefit of friends of friends who may have any of the diagnosis that I recently shared, I didn’t “just get sick.” I’ve been sick. For a long time. My sicknesses just have their names now,’ they penned on their Instagram story.
‘I went to doctors for 8 years. Trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I was called crazy and anxious and lazy amongst other things. I changed my entire lifestyle.
‘When I wasn’t working I was essentially confined to my home for fear of how I’d feel when I woke up each morning.
‘It took me a long time to get to even having a diagnosis so I’m celebrating!! Don’t roll your eyes at your sick friends. They could be fighting a battle that they haven’t named yet. Ya know? [sic].’
