But it didn’t stop her from buying two sets.
It was difficult to sneak around without being heard in the 1990s and early 2000s due to the jangling of thin metal bangles.
The mantra ‘less is more’ meant nothing when it came to this trend as it was all about arms stacked with as many bracelets as possible.
And now they’re back in stores in case you don’t have any still lurking in your old jewellery box.
Primark’s Metallic Bangle Pack comes in either silver or gold, with eight bracelets per set.
Plus, they are only £3.50, meaning you can snatch up multiple sets to achieve the stacked look.
A description on the Primark website reads: “Brace yourselves to fall for these bangles.”
Sharing a video of her Primark haul including the bangles, Glasgow influencer Jilly said: “These are literally straight out of my eight-year-old wardrobe.”
Someone else chimed in: “Omg remember them bangles!!”
A third wrote: “The noise from those bangles is such a blast from the past.”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “I’m taking this as a sign to go to Primark now haha.”
Elsewhere in store, shoppers have joked they “have PTSD” after spotting a noughties shoe trend everyone was glad to see the back of has returned to the footwear department.
Primark’s new £5 ballet flats come in a wide range of colours, including, blue, pink and nude.
But people have moaned: “You can’t even walk in them because it hurts”.
Another nostalgic trend, however, has fashion fans racing to their nearest store to get their hands on it.
The fierce animal print left its mark on 90s fashion and was everywhere – from hats and coats to mini dresses and trousers.
And now it’s back on the rails with the new £14 low-rise maxi skirt and £16 maxi slip dress leaving shoppers gushing “I need it ASAP”.
All the 90s trends that are making a comeback
WE might be in 2024, but fashion fans are looking to the past when it comes to new styles. So what trends from the 90s are making a comeback these days?
Claw clips
These hair accessories were a huge trend back in the 90s, but are now most popular among those trying out the “clean girl” aesthetic. Designers such as Prada have released their own versions, while there are thousands of colours and styles to choose from on the high street.
Platform flip flops
Again a popular choice among fashionistas in the 90s, these heels have made a comeback with designers such as Balenciaga trying their luck with their own styles.
Cargo pants
Once worn by the stars of All Saints, cargo pants became a popular trend for teens in the 90s. But they’ve now had a fashion overhaul, with stars such as Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber all putting their own spin on the trend.
Jeans and a nice top
It was the phrase that defined fashion for a decade, and now famous faces such as Sofia Richie are sporting the reinvented trend – pairing their own denims with a more sophisticated top. But are you willing to dig your jeans and nice tops out of the wardrobe for a second time?
