Stacey Solomon has revealed she gave herself a black eye after attempting to construct a duck coop after a long day.
After appearing on The X Factor in 2009, Stacey went on to win I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! the following year.
In 2016 she started as a panellist on Loose Women and has since gone on to present Sort Your Life Out and Bake Off: The Professionals, while also being one of the stars of Celebrity Gogglebox.
In 2021 she and husband Joe Swash, 42, moved into their Essex home, which has since being lovingly labelled Pickle Cottage by the TV star, 34.
Over the past few years Stacey has given her followers an update on her DIY projects around the home, with the latest no different.

It happened when she was creating a coop for her family’s new ducklings (Picture: Stacey Solomon/ Instagram)
On Tuesday Stacey said she’d been wanting to build a coop after welcoming two adorable ducklings to the family.
‘I thought “If I don’t put it up right this second, I won’t put it up until the weekend”,’ she explained after saying she’d got back from filming Loose Women on Monday and couldn’t want to construct the coop as she had a busy few days ahead.
‘And any normal person would say “It’s fine put it up at the weekend, they’re not going to be in that coop for another six weeks’ but my toxic trait is if there’s something in front of me I have to do it immediately.
‘So, I persisted to build a duck coop in literally dusk, dusk lighting and I got to the roof, got to the triangle bit on the roof and dropped it on my eye,’ she added while laughing.
She continued: ‘Ugh why am I like this? So that’ll be fun at the shoot tomorrow. It will probably be worse tomorrow. It’s always worse the day after the day after.’
However, Stacey said it was worth it to complete the task and she said the final product looked ‘really good’.
‘It is really cool and I’m very excited,’ she said.

The project came after Stacey recently said her‘ultimate goal’ was to become a stay-at-home mum to spend more time with her kids, Zachary, 16, Leighton, 11, Rex, five, Rose, two and one-year-old Belle.
Speaking on the Glad We Had This Chat podcast, Stacey said her ‘ultimate dream’ was to ‘be with my kids’ more.
She added: ‘I mean it is conflicting, because I also want to fulfil my dreams and my goals and the things that I’m passionate about, because if I don’t have that, will I feel unfulfilled?
Stacey went on to share that what she was currently trying to do was ‘make sure everything that I work on I can work on 90% of the time at home’ and she would then ‘just do passion projects outside of the house’.
