I shopped Love Island’s wardrobe – you can copy their outfits from £20 and I even spied Tasha’s yellow Versace two-piece

EBAY is the official sponsor for Love Island once again, since becoming the first pre-loved brand to work with the ITV series back in 2022.

Supplying clothes for the show, in a move away from fast fashion brands that have previously sponsored, contestants can be seen wearing the fits curated from eBay.

In a move to further encourage the nation to shop second hand, eBay opened its doors this week to its Love Island wardrobe.

‘The Nations Shared Wardrobe’ opened to the public in London, seeing people bring in their unwanted wears and trading them in for something from the eBay wardrobe instead.

And we were lucky enough to get a sneak peak.

Brands included Miu Miu, House of CB, Dolce & Gabbana, Meshki, Acne, Prada – a whole host of designer brands.

We were even able to shop some of the previous Love Island contestant wardrobes such as series eights Tasha Ghouri’s iconic yellow Versace co-ord.

Tasha made great use of the pre-loved clothing in her series so much that she worked with eBay following her time in the Villa.

eBay’s Pre-Loved Style Director, Amy Bannerman said: “Seeing amazing pre-loved pieces re-appearing each season – like the men’s tie dye Stussy Jacket, the blue latex Versace dress, and the Rat and Boa dresses – is such a joy.

“By opening up the coveted Love Island wardrobe to fans, we’re proving the power of circular fashion.”

And while the in person wardrobe was only open for a day, bargain hunters can also shop Love Island’s exact wardrobe on the website.

Brands such as River Island, Monsoon and Dune London are all partnered with the second hand site, meaning you can get your hands on pieces from your favourite high street brands for a fraction of the price.

With many pieces starting from only £20 it’s not just high street brands on eBay there are lots of designers to choose from without the hefty price tag.

Think Christian Louboutin shoes for £25, Vivianne Westwood ballet flats for £40.

eBay has also made some changes this year to how it operates, deciding to get rid of selling fees and introducing AI powered listings and digital ID’s to make the whole process easier.

With 60% of 18-34 year olds now borrowing each other’s clothes, second hand shopping is thriving and there are so many great deals to be had.

Top Tips On Swapping Clothes

Amy Bannerman, eBay’s Pre-Loved Style Director, is sharing her top tips:

Make the most of sharing with friends – It’s like shopping but in your bestie’s wardrobe (and free)! Why not get the most out of the experience, by putting some music on and having a try-on session together?
Experiment with new styles – If your friend has a different aesthetic, embrace this. Try out something you wouldn’t typically buy by borrowing it and you never know, you might end up loving it.
Delve into their treasures – Ask the person you are sharing pieces with the story behind the item and see where they wore it before. You could suggest how you might style it, in case it inspires them to rethink how they wear the item.
Make it clear the condition you’d like the item returned – Let them know how it should be returned, and if they should wash it or have it dry-cleaned depending on the item of clothing.
Share with someone new – Once you’re done with sharing amongst friends and housemates, especially now it’s free to sell pre-owned fashion on eBay, go list your unwanted gems to find someone else who will love them.
