Fans are calling it The Final Wait (Bungie)

Destiny 2 fans are reporting a number of game-breaking issues in The Final Shape expansion, as Bungie works on fixing its botched launch.

The launch of Destiny 2 expansion The Final Shape is going from bad to worse. After its initial delay from February to June this year, and the many pre-launch leaks, many fans have found out that they’re unable to access the game at all.

Since The Final Shape came out June 4, fans have reported a number of issues with the servers, with many fans unable to play the expansion.

Although developer Bungie has fixed some of the issues plaguing the releases, other bugs are still causing problems now.

Known issues include players unable to connect to servers and play the expansion, being kicked out of activities, and missing out on cut scenes.

Bungie is trying to update fans about the status of the server issues on Twitter, where it states that it has resolved the Honeydew bug – which relates to access to an activity in the game.

The developer also says it has fixed error codes Weasel and Plum, which have to do with networking issues and Bungie’s anti-cheat system, respectively.

The biggest issue, and Bungie’s main focus, it says, is the Currant error code, which is causing fans to be kicked out of activities.

Bungie has since restarted its servers and says: ‘This mitigation has been deployed and we are seeing significant recovery from Currant error codes. We will continue to closely monitor elevated error code levels, including Cabbage and Weasel errors, and provide additional updates as needed.’

Error code Cabbage happens ‘when router settings block communications to or from our Destiny services,’ the Bungie help page states, which includes a step-by-step of how you can try to fix it.

According to Bungie, if you’ve been affected by the bug where you’re unable to see the cut scenes after mission 1, 4, 5, 6, and 7, a temporary fix is to replay the mission through Replayable Missions.

Bungie’s last update was at 4:30am UK time, June 5, with no confirmation that the Currant and Cabbage error codes are completely fixed yet.

As a result of the botched launch of The Final Shape, the expansion is being review bombed on Steam, where it’s currently labelled ‘mostly negative’ after 1,100 reviews.

Though Bungie has extinguished some of the fires, some still remain, and the developer urges fans to stay tuned to its Twitter account for new updates.
