Carlos Gu has ensured he won’t be getting any unwanted tan lines in his latest swimwear.

The Strictly Come Dancing star got creative and created his own speedos, which he modelled while taking a boat trip.

Rather than nip to Primark to pick up his holiday essentials, the 31-year-old instead found two blue bandanas and fashioned them into some pants.

To finish the look, Carlos placed a third bandana on his head – a much more boring use of the garment.

While the practicality of his creation is low – swimming while wearing it would surely spell disaster – they were perfect for an impromptu photo shoot.

There may not have been a dance floor on the boat, but that didn’t stop Carlos from performing. He served while sitting on the boat’s edge, and standing proudly in front of a beautiful backdrop of mountains and sea.

‘Speedo By me, created by 2 bandanas!!!’ Carlos wrote in the accompanying caption.

He added: ‘You could only comment if u think is good.’

While it looked like the perfect vacation day, things didn’t go totally to plan. Carlos shared a picture on his Instagram stories of a plaster covering a cut and wrote: ‘From the boat trip.’

Carlos should get all the R&R he can, as in just a few short months Strictly Come Dancing will begin to announce which professional dancers are returning to the BBC show, and the celebrities who will be under their guidance.

After joining the show in 2022, the Chinese choreographer and dancer has proven to be a hit.

In his first series, he was paired with EastEnders actress Molly Rainford, with the pair making it all the way to the final.

Last year, Carlos and presenter Angela Scanlon finished in a respectable sixth position.

Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
