Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly in talks with a Girls Aloud star to bring her back to the dancefloor.
Nicola Roberts, 38, was paired up with Giovanni Pernice – who has faced accusations about his behaviour by other former contestants – for the 2022 Christmas special, and now it’s claimed she is being lined up for a return to the celebrity ballroom competition.
She achieved a very impressive score of 39 for her waltz to Silent Night, and clearly left her mark despite narrowly missing out on the Glitterball Trophy.
She lost out to former Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell and her pro partner Kai Widdrington, but she could get another chance at glory.
An insider told The Sun: ‘Nicola is a beautiful dancer with amazing musicality.

‘She was really impressive on the Strictly special and her waltz was beautiful. They’d love to have Nicola back and the offer is there for her.’

While the singer is back on the road with Jump hitmakers Girl Aloud right now, bosses are trying to tempt her back.
They source added: ‘She has got a jam-packed summer with Girls Aloud but Strictly think she could be amazing if she fancied a whirl.’
A BBC spokesperson said: ‘We don’t comment on speculation.’

After her first taste of Strictly in the festive special, Nicola commented: ‘I said I wanted fun and it has been fun.’
Last month, it was reported that the BBC has launched an investigation into Giovanni, who Nicola was paired with in 2022, while he has defended himself on social media.
He said he ‘rejects any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name’ and is said to have instructed lawyers to fight the claims.
His future on the show has yet to be confirmed, though recent reports suggested he has departed from the series and would not be returning later this year.

Reflecting on her own experience, Nicola previously said on The One Show: ‘Gio is a great teacher – he’s a perfectionist – as am I. The waltz is so technical and it’s so different to anything I’ve done before.
‘I don’t necessarily like the learning process because I lose concentration and Gio is very “again, again, again”, but I was grateful because when I finally got to do the waltz I was prepared.
‘And as much as during the rehearsal process I might have wanted to strangle him, I was glad that when I left the ballroom I thought I had done a good job of the waltz.’
