Billy Ray Cyrus has publicly reached out to daughter Miley Cyrus with a sweet message, after they were hit by rumors of a family feud.

The pair sparked speculation that their bond was strained last year, when the We Can’t Stop singer, 31, appeared to skip the country icon’s wedding to his new wife, Firerose.

She also didn’t name him in her speech at the Grammys in February, as she took home her first ever awards, and was joined by mom Tish Cyrus at the ceremony.

Taking to Instagram, the Achy Breaky Heart musician, 62, ignored all reports of a rift as he shared an adorable throwback from their time at the annual Country Music Association festival – set to her hit, Flowers.

‘One of my best memories ever: @cma Fest, back when it was Fan Fair,’ he began. ‘That’s @mileycyrus and me, surrounded by thousands of incredible fans at the fairgrounds.

‘The next day, someone handed me this picture, and I wrote that poem right then on the bus.

‘I’m incredibly proud of her. She’s a survivor and a true artist. She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible. We both cherish the connection we have with our fans and are grateful for every single one of you!

‘Hope you all have a great Friday! Now rock the country!!!’

Miley has yet to respond to publicly respond to her father’s post.

The father-daughter pairing had a very close bond for years and shared the screen in hugely popular Disney series Hannah Montana – which followed Miley starring as a teenager secretly living a double life as a pop star.

The program ran for four seasons and a spin-off film before it ended in 2011.

Following Billy Ray’s split from Tish, many had questioned whether they were still close when the Wrecking Ball star didn’t appear to attend his wedding last October.

She joined some of her siblings for her mom’s wedding in August, and also served as the maid of honor.

Miley then had everyone talking when she won her first ever Grammys, but failed to mention her fellow musician as she collected the trophies.

‘Thank you all so much. This award is amazing but I really hope that it doesn’t change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday,’ she said while accepting the record of the year gong in February.

‘I want to thank everyone standing on this stage right now,’ she said before singling out ‘my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look.

Following the awards, it was claimed that her dad tried to extend an olive branch, with an insider telling Us Weekly: ‘He’s tried reaching out to Miley many times and congratulated her on her Grammys.’

They added that close closest to the family are ‘hoping the rift doesn’t last forever’.
