Taylor Swift arrives in Edinburgh hours before first UK Eras Tour gig as thousands of fans await-Laura Harman-Entertainment – Metro

The UK leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is set to begin tonight, and the music icon has arrived in the Scottish capital ahead of the gig.

The Love Story singer, 34, was seen by aerial cameras travelling in a motorcade led by a police motorbike.

The star was being led to Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, where she is set to perform at 8pm on Friday night.

This marks the first of 15 dates of the Eras Tour that will take place in the UK as she takes to the stage in Edinburgh, Cardiff, London, and Liverpool in the coming weeks.

Although Taylor arrived just hours before she is set to perform, loyal fans and vendors have been arriving at the venue for hours, many after travelling great distances.

Aidan Nicholson, 27, told PA News Agency that he had driven from Orkney, an archipelago off the northeastern coast of Scotland, for the performance.

‘We got a boat and drove for about six hours to get here. We’re also flying out to Denmark tomorrow on holiday.’

At the beginning of the week, the singer was in Lyon, France, performing her three-and-a-half-hour-long concert featuring music from ten of her albums from the past decade.

The singer has already performed across the globe, but will be in the UK for over two weeks performing the Eras Tour.

The Shake It Off singer is set to perform in the UK every night this weekend in Edinburgh and will perform 10 times in the UK before heading to Dublin, Ireland on June 28.

The performer will then return once again to the UK in August after completing more gigs across Europe and will perform five more times at Wembley Stadium in August before heading to Canada in November after a break. 

Although she is set to perform 15 times in the UK, tickets were hard to come by and many UK fans are travelling to tour dates in Europe in order to see the Eras Tour.
