Thrifter admits she was about to redonate ‘impulse buy’ suit – until she finally looked at the label & date it was made

A STYLISH shopper scored big time at a second-hand store — and didn’t even realize it.

She was about to donate her thrift shop find again until she noticed the label.

Redditor Imnotdefensive posted photos of her purchase on the social media platform.

She said that she bought the jacket and skirt set months ago from a thrift store.

At some point, she nearly changed her mind and re-donated it because she “impulse-bought it.”

However, checking the inside of the label changed everything for her.

WHAT WAS IT?

The gray plaid set included a button-up jacket and a pleated skirt.

Inside of the garment, the label read “Christian Dior New York.”

Another Redditor chimed in to give their thoughts on the origin of the set.

“I think they used this label around [the] late 1950s to 1960s, but started making a collection specifically for Saks later, so that’s a bit confusing to me,” they said.

“But then again it’s not stated this is a Dior for Saks garment, and it might be that the latter simply sold it, not that they had exclusive rights or else.”

“I found a tag with a date on it. It looks like it either says 1/25/67 or 1/25/69,” the original poster wrote.

CROWD PLEASER

Plenty of thrifters on Reddit raved over the vintage Christian Dior buy.

“So cute. Get her tailored to fit your body to the T,” one wrote.

“Totally worth the cost and I would go for a preppy look when you accessorize.”

“Keep, keep, keep — and it’s cute,” another chimed in. “Very versatile set.”

“Means you gravitate towards luxury subconsciously,” a third commented.

“You legit picked her high-end luxury designer piece on accident LOL.”

“You may donate it to me,” yet another wrote.

However, the Redditor decided that she needed to sell the piece to make some extra money.

“I am going to sell it,” she revealed.

“[I] couldn’t afford to keep it if I wanted to. I’m moving and need money and don’t have space.”

Another Redditor even offered to help her sell the set.

“This is a vintage couture Dior suit. You should be able to get at least $1,000 for this. I can send you some names of collectors that would be willing to pay that price,” they said.
