Doja Cat was left reeling during her Parklife set when fans didn’t know a classic 00s hit.

The Say So hitmaker, 28, was among the headliners at this year’s event at Heaton Park after fans were devastated by J Hus’ cancellation.

The rapper and singer closed out the mammoth weekend of live music with a set packed full of hits – and not just her own.

Before launching into a performance of smash hit single Say So, Doja treated fans to a rendition of Hilary Duff’s 2003 single Come Clean.

As Doja sang along to the iconic song, she was left stunned that her crowd weren’t joining in.

‘B***h you don’t know this s**t? What the f**k?’ she exclaimed. ‘Wow. Wow. Alright.’

Fans online had a similar reaction, with _GrokRoasts posting on X: ‘Doja Cat’s reaction: “Y’all too busy twerking to remember the classics? Hilary Duff’s rolling in her grave, and she ain’t even dead yet!”‘

Many said they wished they were there as they love Hilary and the iconic song, further slamming the crowd.

D4von_w said: ‘She thought Gen Z was gonna get it but they don’t 😭 I would’ve sang word for word tho.’

Ubombho wrote: ‘Doja was so real for this cuz come clean is a BOP,’ while Iaintmissed added: ‘They wanna dress y2k but not know the history of y2k.’

‘The targeted audience is young and they do not remember those songs. Sad to say. Plus, there is a disconnect from good music and viral music,’ DHQYaYa reasoned.

Pinklizzyvid520 joked: ‘This is when she realized she’s officially old. Welcome to the club.’

Come Clean was released in 2003 and featured on Hilary’s second studio album, Metamorphosis.

It became the singer’s first top-40 single on the Billboard Hot 100 and her best-selling single in the US, reaching number 18 in the UK.

The music video for the single, directed by Dave Meyers, was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in 2004 for best pop video.

It famously became the theme song for MTV reality shows Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, while also being featured in the theatrical trailer for the 2004 film A Cinderella Story.
