How I Met Your Mother actor Nick Pasqual is said to have attempted to flee the USA after allegedly stabbing his partner.

The 34-year-old is facing charges of murder, domestic violence and assault after an alleged attack on his former girlfriend Allie Shehorn, 35.

He has been placed in Hudspeth County Jail in Texas, around 16 miles from the Mexican border, reports Daily Mail.

The alleged charges took place on May 23 at her Sunland home in the city of Los Angeles, after she filed a restraining order against him on May 18.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said: ‘My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident.

‘Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her.

‘This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.’

The charges are listed as one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child’s parent.

It is claimed Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s home at 4:30am and was later found by ‘adoptive mum’ Christine White.

White told television station KTLA: ‘This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anybody.

‘I found her, and I had to go into the bedroom where it happened. That wasn’t a pretty sight.’

Friends believe Shehorn was stabbed more than 20 times, reports the LA Times.

Pasqual will be extradited to Los Angeles where he will face charges for this crime. No date for his transfer proceedings have yet been set.

If convicted as charged, the maximum sentence is life in state prison.

Shehorn was hospitalised with critical injuries, and a friend set up a GoFundMe for her recovery, which has currently raised $112,000 USD of the $150,000 goal.

‘I come to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help for someone very dear to me, my friend Allie,’ the fundraiser page reads.

‘Recently, she faced a horrific and senseless act of violence – she was stabbed multiple times by her ex-boyfriend. As a result, Allie is now in the hospital fighting for her life, in critical condition.

‘Allie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness, and love. No one deserves to endure such a traumatic experience, especially someone as compassionate and caring as Allie.

‘The road to recovery will be long and arduous, but with your support, we can help ease her burden and provide the financial assistance she desperately needs.’

Yesterday, they provided an update on Allie’s recovery, telling donors: ‘It’s been a while since we’ve updated everyone. Things got real.

‘Allie is doing her best to stay positive but the struggle is hard. There are complications that we can not release to the public at this time. But she is feeling better and appreciates the love and support.’

While filing a restraining order, Shoehorn claimed Pasqual was violent towards her: ‘He slapped me across the face and as I was trying to get away down the hallway, he grabbed my hair and pulled me back and I slammed into the floor hitting the back of my head on the ground.’

According to LAPD booking records, he was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence but left jail the same day.

She also claimed he was violent on three other occasions. A hearing over whether to make the temporary restraining order permanent was set for June 11.

Pasqual had roles in the films Rebel Moon Part One and Jobs, and the TV show How I Met Your Mother, where he played college student Will.

Shoehorn is a makeup artist who has worked on Babylon and the 2024 remake of Mean Girls.
