Bradley Cooper has opted for a bold new facial hair look – or he had an unfortunate accident while shaving and is working with it.

Whatever the situation, the Maestro star, 49, managed to look effortlessly cool even with a chunk of his beard missing during a stroll in New York.

The actor sported a full-looking mane on his face, with a large circular patch clean-shaven beneath his lips and over his chin.

His tousled brown hair matched the bizarre beard fashion, as did the black button-up shirt he wore with white embroidered flowers.

He completed the casual look with blue jeans, trainers, and black sunglasses. It’s unknown whether his new beard is in preparation for a role or whether it’s a bold new look for the Hollywood icon.

Just days before the star was spotted making another unusual fashion choice as he was seen taking a stroll rocking two pairs of sunglasses.

On June 7 he was snapped with his beard still intact and wearing a pair of sunglasses – both on his head and hanging from his blue shirt.

The Star Is Born actor was spotted in the city enjoying a day out with his daughter Lea, seven, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Earlier this year, Bradley sparked a fierce reaction over his comments about becoming a parent.

He opened up about their close bond during an appearance on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, but his remarks on being a parent for the first time left many listeners divided.

‘I just needed someone to say, “We’re going to drop this massive anchor,”’ he said.

‘Because this is going to dictate everything you do from now on. Your DNA is going to tell you that there’s something more important than you.’

Shedding light on his introduction to fatherhood, the dad-of-one explained that he would often hear other parents say: ‘”I would die in a second for my kid.”

‘If I’m being honest, the first eight months, I don’t even know if I really love the kid.

‘It’s dope. It’s cool. I’m watching this thing morph. Then all of a sudden…

‘That’s my experience. Fascinated by it. Loved taking care of it. But would I die if someone came in with a gun? It’s only a couple of months…’

‘And then all of a sudden, it’s like – no question.’

While many fiercely disagreed with what the Limitless actor said, others praised him for his open and honest admission.
