Warning: spoilers ahead for Bridgerton season 3 part 2.

Bridgerton season 3 part 2 has finally been released on Netflix, and fans are going wild about all of the revelations that have come from the final episodes.

One of the biggest talking points has come from Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), whose romance with Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) progressed to a whole other level, by bringing another man into their relationship.

Fans have speculated ever since season one that Benedict might be queer, and now many are celebrating the fact that he’s experienced a ‘bisexual awakening’.

One evening when Benedict is at Lady Tilley’s house for dinner, she introduces him to a friend of hers, Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio), who joins them for a meal.

After Paul and Benedict share a private moment on the balcony, clearly forging some sort of a connection, Benedict is later invited by Paul and Lady Tilley to join them in the bedroom.

At first, the second-eldest Bridgerton brother is hesitant to join them, but after some thought he reassesses their offer, returning and joining the pair of them for a passionate threesome.

After watching the final four episodes of the season, several fans have been overwhelmed with excitement over Benedict’s exploration of his sexuality, especially after some felt as though they were ‘queerbaited’ with the character in season one.

‘I’m here for Benedict’s bisexual awakening and him whoring around while the Bridgerton family faces distress and dilemma lmao,’ one fan called @Hoyaanae wrote on X..

@Raggedydocs added: ‘I really appreciate them seeing all the conversations around Benedict’s queerness and finally deciding to explore it more explicitly rather than leaving it as subtext.

Referencing where Benedict’s story might lead, according to the books, they continued: ‘He can be bisexual and still end up marrying a woman and I’m glad they’re not shying away from that.’

Another called @charstoppers compared the plot to the recent Zendaya film Challengers, tweeting: ‘I will tell my kids that this was Challengers. Benedict bisexual Bridgerton. I am so seated. We are winning.’

At the premiere for Bridgerton season three part two, Metro.co.uk spoke to Hannah about the future of Tilley and Benedict’s relationship on the series.

‘I think their relationship is one of real, authentic connection. I can tease that they have a lot of fun. It’s very spicy, and that they really learn how to be authentic with one another, and honest,’ she said.

‘There’s a couple of little trip ups at the beginning, as [there] always is, but I think there is a portrayal of real honesty and clarity, and I think that is a wonderful thing to see. Because I think everybody always pretends that they’re this certain person to be with someone else, and actually, you know, that’s not the way that you find everlasting love.’

Teasing the importance of Paul in the final episodes, she added: ‘He’s a very important person in her life, so it’s very important that Benedict does meet this man. I’m not sure how much I’m allowed to say, but everyone’s gonna see it, right? Everyone’s gonna see it by tomorrow.

‘It means that there is a real opening up of who these people are, how they love, how they love each other, and it’s a wonderful way to just really double down on the fact that love is love is love is love is love is love.’

Jess Brownell, the showrunner for season three, opened up about Benedict exploring his sexuality, telling Glamour: ‘I personally feel like Benedict reads as queer in seasons one and two, and I think a lot of audiences have felt that way as well.

‘So in the writer’s room, we wanted to make sense of that in a season in which Benedict is figuring out his place in society and what it means for him to feel a little different and how he can skirt the rules of society while being true to himself. It felt like him embracing his queerness was a great way to tell that story.’

While there was plenty of excitement around Benedict, there’s also another member of the Bridgerton family who fans think might have just been revealed to be queer.

Warning: spoilers ahead for the Bridgerton books, with theories for the future of the TV series.

Francesca is now married to John Stirling, who introduces her to his cousin, Michaela (Picture: Liam Daniel/Netflix)

At the very end of part two, Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) – who is now married to John Stirling, the Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli) – meets her new husband’s cousin Michaela (Masali Baduza).

In the books, Michael is her husband’s first cousin, who becomes Francesca’s second husband after John dies.

So, the fact that Michaela has been introduced instead has led fans to believe that Francesca will end up with another woman.

This theory might be fuelled by the fact that when Francesca and John kiss at their wedding in the series, she appears to hesitate for a moment after their lips meet.

Then, when she meets Michaela for the first time, she seems to be very taken straight away with her new acquaintance.

‘Bi benedict and gay francesca HAPPY PRIDE MONTH BABES,’ X user @satelliterrie wrote in celebration.

‘BISEXUAL FRANCESCA AND BENEDICT WE WONNNNNNN,’ an enthusiastic @thetisswinds added.

Bridgerton is available to watch on Netflix.
