Tilda Swinton made a voice cameo as an octopus who has a sexual relationship with a human in The Boys season four on Amazon Prime.

The Boys is back and within the first two episodes of season four, fans were shocked by a graphic scene ‘worse than Human Centipede’.

The series is known for being pretty outrageous, and in a new twist, they hired a Tilda, the Hollywood icon, to cameo as an octopus in a relationship with The Deep (a character played by Chase Crawford who can talk to sea life).

Viewers were first introduced to Ambrosius the octopus in season three when Starlight (played by Erin Moriarty) caught The Deep having sex with the octopus at a party.

Although fans didn’t get to hear the cephalopod’s voice at the time, in the latest episode, it was revealed that Tilda Swinton is the voice actress behind this aquatic character.

In the final moments of the first episode of season four, Ambrosius told The Deep: ‘Baby look at me, we wouldn’t have to hide our love anymore.

‘We could just be Kevin and Ambrosius.’ The scene was strangely sweet and 100%bizarre as Tilda magnificently bought this character to life in what might be her strangest role to date.

Chase Crawford told The Wrap that he didn’t realise until much further along in the filming process that he’d be working opposite Tilda Swinton.

‘Kripke always said he wanted to get the most Oscar-winning British actor around and there are only like four of them in the world. He texted me like, “Don’t tell anyone but you’re going to get a kick out of this”.’

The creator also spoke about the process of getting the actress on board and revealed she found the script ‘hilarious’.

‘Unlike a lot of our other cameos, we didn’t know Tilda,’ Kripke said.

‘We just sent the script to her rep. She came back saying it was hilarious and she wanted to do it to our – I don’t what to say, shock, but it was a surprise.

‘She came in for one day to record all the episodes and I was there. I have to say, watching the classiest possible actress record the dumbest possible s**t was one of the great days of my career.’

The fourth series of the show has been applauded by fans but has also been somewhat bittersweet. It was revealed just last week that The Boys would be coming to a close after season five.

Eric Kripke, the show creator, took to X to reveal: ‘#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season!

‘Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!’

The Boys season four is available to view on Amazon Prime.
