Craig Revel Horwood has unveiled plans for his first ever album.

The Strictly Come Dancing legend, who has been a judge on the BBC’s Latin and ballroom show since its launch in 2004, has admitted the record could be his ‘only chance’ to do these songs justice.

The album, which is set to be released by Westway Music on October 18, has been described as a mix of ‘drama, pathos, romance, and a touch of high camp’.

Craig said: ‘I am thrilled to announce the release of my debut album! It’s a momentous occasion for me, and I can’t wait to share the songs I’ve carefully chosen.

‘Throughout my musical journey, I’ve had the privilege of performing as both a dancer and a singer in numerous musicals.

‘However, this album holds a special place in my heart as I’ve had the opportunity to select songs that truly resonate with me.’

For the collection, the 59-year-old dancer chose tracks ‘traditionally associated with female singers’, and he relished the challenge.

He added: ‘Each track on the album is traditionally associated with female singers, which presented a delightful challenge.

‘I embraced this opportunity to record these songs, knowing that it might be my only chance to give them my own interpretation.

‘The album is a perfect blend of drama, pathos, romance, and a touch of high camp. I’ve poured my heart and soul into every note, hoping that you will love each and every song.

‘Thank you for joining me on this incredible musical journey. I can’t wait for you to experience the magic of my album!’

To celebrate the LP, Craig will be heading out on the road on an epic 53-date UK tour which kicks off in Eastleigh on April 4, 2025.

As well as a date at London’s Union Chapel, Craig will be playing everywhere from Birmingham, Crawley and Lowesoft to Bath, the Isle of Wight and Liverpool.

Strictly fans will be delighted to know he’s also returning to Blackpool on May 4 next year for a show at the Grand Theatre.

Meanwhile, back in December 2023, Craig dismissed the idea he was leaving the ballroom show after the most recent series after plenty of speculation about his future.

Asked if viewers would be seeing him in 2024, he told This Morning: ‘Yes you are! I’m definitely coming back. Don’t believe any of those vicious rumours, no.

Tickets go on sale on June 17 at 10am, and are available from craigrevelhorwood.com.
