Amazon has a hidden feature that makes its hit show The Boys even funnier (Picture: Amazon Prime Video)

Fans of The Boys have realised they have been missing a lot of the hilarious jokes in the series because they didn’t know about Amazon Prime Video’s incredible hidden feature.

Back with a bang, The Boys season four launched last week and viewers were treated to watching an Oscar-winning legend lend her voice to an octopus who has sex with people, and a close-up bum scene that really set the tone of the new season.

Although the show is undeniably hilarious, fans have realised that they have been missing out on several fantastic jokes because they were unaware of a clever feature.

On Amazon’s streaming platform, there is an ‘X-Ray’ feature that gives additional information about the show. For most series, they explain who is in the cast or any interesting trivia.

The Boys has taken this one step further and added hilarious comments in some of the trivia sections to give fans a real insight into behind-the-scenes details of the show.

One viewer highlighted a funny comment on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a screenshot of the information that appeared when they paused the most graphic human-centipede-inspired sex scenes in the show, starring Rob Benedict.

The trivia box read: ‘Actor Rob Benedict wants us to remind everyone that he studied Shakespeare at Northwestern University.

‘There is no contractual obligation for us to carry out this request. This is merely a kind gesture.’

The fan who posted the screenshot, Azalben, captioned the post: ‘If you’re not watching #TheBoys with Prime Video’s X-Ray feature on, you’re missing half the jokes.’

Some viewers were completely unaware of this hack and said that they needed to check it out for themselves.

CapBlondebeard commented: ‘Okay, now I have a reason to rewatch the entire show.’

SushiPopbox also commented:  ‘I didn’t know what x-ray was, this sounds fun! I needed a reason to rewatch the first 3 eps this early so tyvm.’

Other viewers were well aware of this hack and said it was a welcome addition. Mushfiqur25 commented: ‘It takes me an extra 10 mins to finish any show/ movies on Amazon for this weirdly cool feature.’

ClinicalBrendon also added: ‘Rewatching the show and seeing this every now and again is great.’

To enable the Amazon X-Ray feature, all you need to do is start streaming an episode, click ‘view all’ and you will be shown tab options including cast, music, trivia, and bonus content.

Other scenes in the series also have little jokes in them, and in fact the series has been adding special general trivia since season one.

In one season four scene starring Tilda Swinton as Ambrosius the octopus, the general trivia read: ‘Ambrosius is voiced by none other than Academy Award-winning actress, Tilda Swinton. This is not a joke.’

Fans had better make the most of this feature while they could as it was announced that The Boys would be coming to a close after season five.

This equates to around 13 new episodes left to wrap up this incredible show!

The first episodes of The Boys season four are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video now.
