Netflix fans have wasted no time binging the latest episodes of Bridgerton, sparking a jaw-dropping result on streaming charts.
After waiting a month for the final four episodes of season 3, viewers finally got to see what unfolded in the love story between Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) after that saucy carriage scene.
Clearly desperate to find out what happened after the pair finally expressed their feelings for one another, the season return saw ‘the best sex scene ever’ play out on screens.
But things weren’t smooth sailing for the new couple, but we’ll make sure to avoid spoilers for anyone yet to catch up.
After the second half of the season dropped on Thursday, new figures have shown just how popular it’s been with viewers.
Data from Luminate’s weekly viewership rankings for June 7-13 showed that in just a single day, Bridgerton was watched by Netflix viewers for 589 million minutes.

However, this total was also combined with viewership of the four episodes that were previously available.
It was followed by Benedict Cumberbatch’s series Eric, which was watched for 518.2 million minutes, the third season of Sweet Tooth (566.4 million) and season 2 of Perfect Match (513.1 million), as reported by Variety.
The first and second seasons of Bridgerton also rounded out the top 10 shows watched last week, with a total of 198.9 million minutes and 177 million watched.
Ahead of the new Bridgerton episodes being released, last week Nicola revealed on This Morning that the steamy sex scene after the carriage session got so hot and heavy her and Luke actually managed to break some furniture.
‘We did stop because we broke the furniture when we were doing it,’ she said.

‘We were really going for it,’ she laughed.
‘We’ve worked together for so long that we can communicate without having to say much, and I knew that we were both thinking “We’re killing this”.’
Luke then recalled the chaise-longue ‘collapsing’ under them.
Nicola later shared the evidence on Instagram, posing in front of the broken furniture item smiling while Luke looked embarrassed at what they’d done.
Bridgerton is streaming on Netflix.
