With The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom it’s Zelda’s turn to be the hero, as fans show their love for her new look on social media.

The Nintendo Direct this week revealed what fans can expect of new titles coming in the near future, including a new Mario & Luigi role-player, a Super Mario Party game, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

The biggest surprise during the showcase, however, was the reveal of a new Zelda game – which actually stars Zelda herself – which is coming out later this year.

The trailer shows Zelda in a new look inspired by her appearance in Ocarina Of Time and the art style of the Link’s Awakening remake, and fans are so enamoured with it they’ve already created lots of great art to show their love for the character.

In the game, Link has vanished, so it’s up to Zelda to take her place as the sole protagonist, as she sets out to save Hyrule.

Fans are flocking to social media to post their new-look Zelda art, and there are some really great creations here.

One fan was so excited for Echoes Of Wisdom that they’ve already managed to created a crochet version of the new-look Zelda.

The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom is a top-down action adventure but despite rumours of a new remake it’s a completely new game, although not technically the first to star Zelda in the lead role (trust, us you don’t want to know about the others).

It’s easy to see why fans are so excited, as there’s even more artwork than this doing the rounds on Reddit, Twitter, and DeviantArt.

They won’t have to wait long to play the game either, as Echoes Of Wisdom is out on September 26, alongside a special promotional Switch Lite.
