False claims about Justin Timberlake have emerged as it’s suggested that the former NSYNC singer was on poppers and preventative HIV medication at the time of his arrest.

Justin, 43, was taken into custody this week after allegedly driving while intoxicated in the early hours of June 18.

The singer and actor reportedly failed to maintain his lane of travel, and didn’t pause at a stop sign, in Sab Harbor.

Following this news, many people were fooled by a satirical X account – which has now been deleted – that claimed the actor was on several different drugs at the time of his arrest.

A spoof account of Pop Crave called Poo Crave tweeted: ‘Justin Timberlake allegedly had traces of molly, poppers, Truvada, and coke in his bloodstream following his DWI arrest in New York.’

Truvada is a medicine used to treat AIDS and also prevent HIV and AIDS. Poppers are a recreational drug that’s inhaled and gives the user a euphoric feeling and relaxed muscles.

The fake information amassed 28.4 million views and 128k likes. While some were well aware that this was a joke, others believed that this tweet was accurate.

X was forced to add a warning that read: ‘This is a satirical account of Pop Crave (@PopCrave). No information has been reported about Justin Timberlake undergoing a blood test since his arrest.’

The account was subsequently removed from X.

At the time of his arrest, it was confirmed that the police believed Justin was ‘intoxicated’.

It was reported by MailOnline that the Sexy Back singer refused to take a breathalyser test. When asked to take the test, he allegedly replied: ‘No, I’m not doing a chemical test. I refuse. I refuse.’

The Sag Harbor Village Police Department said in a statement: ‘On June 18 2024, at 12.37am, Justin R Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel.

‘A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

‘Mr Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment.

‘Mr Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18 2024 at 9.30am, where he was released on his own recognisance.’

Since his arrest, many famous faces in the industry have mocked the singer. Ricky Gervais made an alcohol joke and promoted the vodka brand he co-owns in one swift sting.

The Office star said on X: ‘[Justin Timberlake] Did you get the bottle of Dutch Barn Vodka I sent you the other day?’

Fans of Justin’s ex Britney Spears have managed to bump Britney’s 2011 song Criminal into the top 10 on iTunes in Brazil.

The tune has also moved up the charts in several other countries as the fanbase rallies together against her ex who she famously dated Justin from 1999 to 2002.
