Charli XCX and Lorde seem to have worked out their issues in a new remix of Girl, So Confusing.
The I Love It hitmaker and the New Zealand singer have joined forces on a new version of the track from Charli’s album Brat after rumours it was written about the Royals star.
In the song, Charli reflects on a complicated relationship with another female singer, with lyrics such as, ‘People say we’re alike/ They say we’ve got the same hair/ We talk about making music/ But I don’t know if it’s honest’.
In the remix, Lorde seemingly confirms the song is about her with her own verse as she sings about being ‘so lost in my head’.
She croons: ‘Well honestly I was speechless/ When I woke up to your voice note / You told me how you’ve been feeling / Let’s work it out on the remix.
‘You’d always say, ‘Let’s go out’/ But then I’d cancel last minute/ I was so lost in my head/ And scared to be in the pictures.’
Elsewhere in her verse, Lorde explains that she was ‘trapped in hatred’ and Charli’s life ‘seemed so awesome’ but she had no idea her voice was in Charli’s head.
The duo then team up for the pre-chorus, as they belt out: ‘And when we put this to bed/ The internet will go crazy.’
On the day Brat was released, Lorde took to her Instagram Stories to gush about the Von Dutch hitmaker.
‘The only album I’ve ever presaved is out today,’ the Green Light singer wrote. ‘Charli just cooked this one different…

‘So much grit, grace and skin in the game. I speak for all of us when I say it’s an honor to be moved, changed and gagged by her work. There is NO ONE like this b**ch.’
Last month, Charli opened up about rumours of a feud between the pair and insisted they were on good terms, but she was ‘super jealous’ of Lorde’s early success in 2013.
She told Rolling Stone: ‘When Royals came out, I was super jealous of the success that that song got, and that [Lorde] got.

‘You piece all this stuff together in your brain, like: “She was into my music. She had big hair; I had big hair. She wore black lipstick; I once wore black lipstick.”
‘You create these parallels and think,”Well, that could have been me.” But it couldn’t have because we’re completely different people.
‘I wasn’t making music that sounded anything like Royals. I think you just read what you want into it because you’re feeling insecure about your own work.’
