The first Glastonbur 2024 cancellation has hit as the festival announces Groove Armada’s Thursday night set will no longer go ahead.
Soon, over 200,000 people will be heading to Worthy Farm to see the likes of Shania Twain, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and Sza take to the stage.
Performers have been hitting back at those grumbling over the line-up, with a cutting ‘don’t go then’ from one rising star.
Despite complaints, huge crowds are anticipated at the Pyramid Stage and across the hundreds of stages and bars over the huge city-sized festival.
However, Glastonbury organisers have been forced to cancel one huge dance artist’s gig over overcrowding worries.
Posting on X, the official festival page wrote: ‘To ensure that @GrooveArmada’s many fans can enjoy the duo’s DJ sets at this year’s Festival, their performance in the lower-capacity Stonebridge Bar on Thursday night can now not take place.

The duo, made up of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, are best known for their song I See You Baby – later remixed by fellow Glasto star Fatboy Slim.
‘Instead, we encourage you to take in their sets at the larger capacity Glade on Sunday at 8.30pm and B2B with Eats Everything at Levels on Saturday at 6pm,’ continued the official announcement.
‘Thank you for your understanding.’
Along with I See You Baby, Groove Armada found chart success with At the River and Superstylin’, with four of their albums landing in the top 50.
They stormed charts in the 00s, landing multiple Brit, Grammy, and Music Video Award nominations.

Groove Armada has not issued their own statement on the cancellation but will take to the Glade stage on Sunday at 8.30pm.
The iconic Stonebridge Bar is host to smaller gigs, usually DJ sets, and this year will see Idris Elba perform on Saturday night (or rather Sunday morning).
In another – rather unusual – announcement, BBC News Analysis Editor Ross Atkins will also be taking to the decks.
The I See You Baby hitmakers have performed at Glasto five times since 1999, the last being in 2022 at the Arcadia stage.
