Fred Durst had us all doing a double take as he unveiled his new look, while joining his Limp Bizkit bandmates on stage at Download Festival.

The Rollin’ stars performed at the annual bash last Sunday and delighted the huge crowd in Derby alongside Avenged Sevenfold, Sum 41 and Bowling for Soup.

Queens of the Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and The Offspring were also among performers across the three-day festival.

However, the 53-year-old looked very different during the set, swapping his trademark goatee for a bushy grey beard.

He donned a striped black-and-white Japan jersey for the gig, paired with white trousers, black trainers and a light blue bucket hat.

Fans were delighted to finally get a glimpse of the rockers and branded their set the ‘best’ of the entire weekend.

Cheering the performance underneath a picture from the official Download Instagram page, Amy_lou_83 replied: ‘The best thing I’ve seen this weekend with my human eyes.’

Emmaannerae agreed: ‘Honestly the most INSANE show. WOWWWW.’

Jennylou1504 penned: ‘Absolutely blew it out of the park! Definitely should have been heading [sic].’

‘Highlight of the whole damn weekend,’ Jodie.black.x said.

As Rebecca_kinsey added: ‘Put them on longer next time they were bloody fantastic my fave this weekend!!!!!’

The group, currently consisting of Fred, John Otto, Sam Rivers, Wes Borland and DJ Lethal, was first formed in 1994.

They dropped their debut album, Three Dollar Bill, Y’all, in 1997 and shot to superstardom with their follow-up, Significant Other, two years later – which topped the charts in the US.

Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, released in 2000, also peaked at number one around the world, including the UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

It included Take A Look Around, My Generation and Rollin’, which is still one of the band’s most known songs more than two decades on.

After rocking out at Download, they appeared at Pinkpop in the Netherlands on Sunday, complete with a surprise duet with none other than Ed Sheeran.

The Thinking Out Loud musician appeared on stage for a cover of Behind Blue Eyes – Fred quipped that they combined to become ‘Fred Sheeran’ for the set on Instagram.
